Abstract:
An actuating system includes a driving device fixed to a base part and operatively connected to a movable part. A sensor detects the rotational speed of the movable part at a reference measuring location, and a control system forms a differential of the rotational speed with respect to the time. The formed differential is compared in a comparison unit with a stored differential value which corresponds to a measuring point on a route of movement of the movable part. An obstacle is recognized when there is a difference above a threshold value between the formed differential and the associated stored value.
Abstract:
In a system for automatically opening or closing a sliding door or the like for a vehicle, an undesired clamping of an object between the door and the vehicle body, resulting in increased tension force in the wire moving the door, is sent early and relieved quickly. The wire (4) is solidly secured to the sliding door and wound onto a drum (10) to open or close the door by a motor driving the drum, and two tensioners (11a and 11b) are provided respectively on opposite sides of the drum and between the drum and door. Each sensor has a movable part (19) positioned in accordance with the tension force in the wire passing through the tensioner, sensor plates (20) are provided on the movable parts of the tensioners, and magnetic sensors (21) are provided to detect the moving speeds of the plates. When the moving speeds of the plates are larger than a predetermined value, preset in advance, in cases other than when the door is at a fully closed or fully opened condition, a controller concludes that some object has been clamped between the door and the vehicle body and immediately relieves such clamping.
Abstract:
A vehicle power liftgate cable drive has a cable drive housing. An electric motor with a motor housing and an output shaft is secured to the cable drive housing. A clutch pack with a first clutch driven by the output shaft and a second clutch driven by the first clutch, is mounted in the cable drive housing. One of the clutches in the clutch pack is a one way clutch and the other clutch is an electromechanical clutch. A pinion gear is driven by the second clutch. A driven gear is rotatably journaled on a fixed shaft and driven by the pinion gear. The cable drum is attached to the driven gear. A coil spring has one end fixed to the fixed shaft and its other end attached to the cable drum. The fixed shaft is rotated to preload the coil spring in a direction that tends to wind a cable on the cable drum and then the fixed shaft is fastened to the cable drive housing. A cable is attached to the cable drum and to the liftgate.

A powered sliding device for sliding a vehicle sliding door along a guide rail comprises a base plate fixed to the vehicle body, a wire drum rotatably mounted on the base plate and rotated by a motor, a wire cable provided between the wire drum and the sliding door, a first holder provided in the vicinity of one end of the guide rail and having a first pulley making contact with the wire cable, a second holder provided in the vicinity of the other end of the guide rail and having a second pulley making contact with the wire cable, a tension roller provided on the base plate for making contact with the wire cable by resiliency of a spring, a flexible cable sheath covering the outer periphery of the wire cable between the first holder and the base plate and having one end to be connected to the first holder, a supporting member connected to the other end of the cable sheath. The supporting member is slidably mounted to the base plate in parallel with a running direction of the wire cable.
Abstract:
A window regulator comprising a vertically extending support member having respectively on upper and lower ends thereof turn up guide members, a drive cable extending between the two turn up guide members and being connected to a movable driven member such as a bracket connected to a window glass, and a drive mechanism for moving the drive cable. One of the turn up guide members is movably supported on the support member such that the distance between the turn up guide members can be changed, and a spring is provided to urge the movable turn up guide member in the direction separating from the stationary turn up guide member.
Abstract:
The automatic touch actuated door opener includes an elongated flexible tension member having one end connected to a door and the other end connected to a tension member take-up device. The door is biased to its closed position for maintaining tension in the tension member when the door is moved to its closed position. A switch in contact with the tension member senses decreased tension due to external touching pressure against the door and actuates the take-up device to automatically open the door. A time delay switch causes the take-up device to allow the door to return to its closed position after the preselected time interval.
Abstract:
A window regulator for operating a slidable window panel. The window regulator includes a drive drum mounted for rotation in a wire winding direction to wind a first wire having one end mounted on a window panel carrier and in a wire unwinding direction to unwind the first wire. A driven drum is mounted for rotation in a wire winding direction to wind a second wire having one end mounted to the carrier and in a wire unwinding direction to unwind the second wire. The drive and driven drums come into connection with each other for rotation of the driven drum in unison with the drive drum only when the drive drum rotates in its wire unwinding direction. A device is provided for making a connection between the drive and driven drums for rotation of the driven drum in unison with the drive drum in response to rotation of the drive drum in its wire winding direction.
Abstract:
An operating mechanism for the window in a motorcar door and the like includes guiding devices, including at least one deflecting element, which engage a wire, cable or other elongated tension member and guide the tension member on the door in a loop-shaped path when the tension member is driven in the path alternatively in two opposite, longitudinal directions. The motion of the tension member is transmitted to the window. The tension member stretches under the longitudinal stresses exerted thereon by the drive and the window and needs to be tensioned. According to the invention, a spring in a permanently stressed condition biases the deflecting element in a direction to lengthen the path of the tension member and for thereby compensating for slack in the engaged portion of the tension member when the tension member moves in one longitudinal direction, whereby the spring reaches a partly relaxed condition. A protecting mechanism protects the spring against return from the partly relaxed condition toward the stressed condition when the tension member moves in the opposite direction.
Abstract:
An electrical operator assembly for garage doors and the like includes a reversible electric motor, a belt member and means deflecting the belt member from a straight line path. When the door operated by the assembly encounters an obstruction, the belt member overcomes the deflecting pressure and operates reversing switch means to reverse the direction of operation of the electric motor. The control circuitry includes a multiposition relay adapted to reverse the direction of operation of the motor upon change of the contacts closed therein when a signal is received from the reversing switch which transmits its signal directly to the relay. In addition, a disabling switch is directly responsive to operation of the drive means after a preselected period of travel in one direction to disable the reversing switch and prevent its transmission of a signal to the motor when the door approaches the end of its preselected period of travel in that direction. The motor remains in closed circuit contact with the relay means during reversal of direction by the reversing switch.
