Abstract:
The invention relates to a hinge comprising a moveable hinge section and a hinge section consisting of a fixed stop section, which are interconnected by at least one joint axis, and comprising a damping device mounted on one of the hinge sections whose translationally or rotatably moveable damping member is acted upon at least in the closure region of the hinge via gear means from the other hinge section. According to the invention for adjustment of the moveable damping member depending on the tilt of the moveable hinge section relative to the at least one joint axis, there is provided at least three moveable gear members are provided, of which one is the damping member itself.
Abstract:
A vehicle decklid system uses a planetary gear drive to move a decklid relative to a vehicle body. The planetary gear drive includes a rotatable gear that is disposed between two fixed gears. One fixed gear is rigidly mounted to the decklid and one fixed gear is rigidly mounted to the vehicle body. A rotating link connects centers of the rotatable gear and two fixed gears. The combination of the planetary gear drive and rotating link make it possible to provide powered complex, two-dimensional motion of the decklid requiring a four-bar linkage.
Abstract:
A continuous roll of screen which may be payed out from said roll by an installer or manufacturer to a required predetermined window size, or alternatively patio door size, said screen comprising a free end which allows the installer to pay the screen off of the roll upon which the screen is accumulated course upon course, one end of said screen being disposed at the end of the courses accumulated on the roll from which the screening is payed off and the other end being a free end, said screen having side edges and preferably being manufactured from preferably vinyl-coated fiberglass, the edges of said screen having affixed thereto a generally preferably T-shaped key manufactured from a flexible material, for example polyvinyl chloride, which is affixed preferably by radio frequency welding (or RF welding) with the edges and preferably each of the edges, and in one embodiment at least one edge of said screen, wherein the vinyl coating provided on the screen melds with the polyvinyl chloride key to form a resilient anchor for the screen device within any screen roller assembly.
Abstract:
A retractable screen is located within a frame portion of a window. The screen accumulates on and pays out from a spring biased roller located in said frame portion. The screen is fully retractable and for the most part hidden for viewing, egress or cleaning purposes, and is available as desired when moved to the operable position. The screening material utilized includes “T” shaped members for easy installation in compatible grooves provided with the handle and the roller.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a damping mechanism capable of varying the moving speed of an openable door or the like in stages as necessary. Such damping mechanism includes a damping body (1) installed with a damper mechanism and allowing a rotative shaft (3) to protrude therefrom; a plurality of pinions (4, 5) provided on the rotative shaft (3) and each having a different diameter from one another; and a rack member (2) including a plurality of racks (7, 8) respectively engaging with the pinions (4, 5).
Abstract:
A device for suspending and moving a door leaf perpendicular and parallel to a wall. The device comprising a first set of rails extending in a direction perpendicular to the wall, a second set of rails extending in a direction parallel to the wall and an elongated member which extends both parallel to and perpendicular to the wall. The door leaf is slidably mounted on the first set of rails and the first set of rails is slidably mounted on the second set of rails. The door leaf includes a motor which operatively engages the elongated member to move the door leaf perpendicular to the wall and parallel to the wall to open and close an opening in the wall.
Abstract:
A closure assembly is provided including a track and a slidable and pivotable closure member. The closure member is engaged with the track proximate first and second pivots adjacent the pivotable end of the member, the first and second pivots being interconnected by a multiple segment shaft (for example at least two portions) (for example telescoping) which provides for accurate installation, retention, removal, adjustment and alignment of the first and second pivots in a substantially parallel line for pivotally supporting the closure member so that it may be safely and securely pivoted away from the closure assembly. Improvements to the abovementioned structure are also provided.
Abstract:
A gate assembly includes a sliding gate, a drive having a motor and motor pinion gear for driving the sliding gate, and a force transmission element for transmitting a driving force from the drive to the sliding gate. The force transmission element includes at least one threaded bolt having a bolt head, and a toothed rack engaged with the motor pinion gear. The toothed rack includes a toothed element having a base defining a first side having teeth attached thereto, and a second side opposite to the first side and forming a groove extending in a longitudinal direction of the toothed element for accommodating the bolt head. The groove defines a groove width corresponding to a width of the bolt head. The toothed rack further includes a support element connected with the sliding gate using the at least one bolt, and that is adapted to receive the toothed element. The support element includes at least one through bore for receiving the at least one bolt.
Abstract:
A retractable door structure for a storage case including a pair of guide grooves formed from the front end to the back end of the inner surfaces of the case panel, sliding blocks connected to each other by a connecting rod provided in the guide grooves, and a pinion mounted in each of the sliding blocks which is designed to engage with a rack formed in the guide grooves. The door is pivotally held between the sliding blocks by rotary shafts attached to the corners of the door. By means of this structure, the door can be slid inside the case after it is opened and the door is easily pushed in and pulled out of the case since the sliding blocks holding the door slide smoothly in the guide grooves.
Abstract:
A counterbalancing hinge for range oven doors or the like includes the following features: (a) articulated members one of which is a bracket adapted to be secured to a supporting body structure such as a range and the other of which is an arm adapted to be received within an oven door or the like and carrying a counterbalancing spring, (b) means for selectively adjusting the counterbalancing spring, (c) door leveling means, (d) an arm latching and locking device activated when the door is removed from the arm, (e) a strain separable detent carried by the spring supporting arm to restrain the arm selectively in door-partially open position, (f) counterbalancing spring action controlling mechanism, (g) spring for retaining the door so it can be removed only when in partially open position, (h) only a screwdriver is needed for installing or removing the counterbalancing hinge relative to the installation, (i) only a screwdriver is needed to, adjust, remove or replace the counterbalancing spring.
