Abstract:
PURPOSE: A packet terminal capable of supporting multi packet calls and a method of supporting multiple packet calls in a packet terminal is provided to simultaneously receive various application services by supporting multi calls, thereby enabling different services to coexist. CONSTITUTION: A user interface block(200) performs a user interface and an environment setup operation. An Internet protocol block(270) is connected to the user interface block(200), and performs an operation of transmitting all packet service data including mobile IP data. A session management block(210) is connected to the Internet protocol block(270), and performs a packet data protocol and a session management operation. A wireless resource management block(230) is connected to the session management block(210) and a packet mobile communication network, and performs wireless resource management and signal connection management operations. The first delimiter is between the user interface block(200) and the Internet protocol block(270). The second delimiter is between the Internet protocol block(270) and the session management block(210). The third delimiter is between the session management block(210) and the wireless resource management block(230). The first, second and third delimiters are differently set according to packet services. Packet calls corresponding to the packet services are divided by connecting the first, second and third delimiters.
Abstract:
PURPOSE: A method for authenticating and managing a subscriber connected to other network within a diameter server is provided to receive a wireless LAN service by using the diameter server to authenticate the subscriber connected to other network. CONSTITUTION: A method for authenticating and managing a subscriber connected to other network within a diameter server include an authentication process, a service process, and a reset process. The authentication process is to generate and manage necessary data corresponding to a subscriber according to the subscriber's request connected to other network(301-306). The service process is to provide a service to the subscriber after the authentication process is performed(307-314). The reset process is to finish each session and perform an initialization process when the subscriber requires a session end(315).
Abstract:
PURPOSE: A method for assigning/canceling a dynamic IP address by a diameter server is provided to enable a diameter server to authenticate a terminal subscriber when a dynamic IP address assign request is received, and to request a dynamic IP address assignment of a DHCP server, thereby preventing the address from being assigned to an unauthorized user. CONSTITUTION: A mobile terminal(114) transmits a DHCP server retrieval message(301). If an address manager(204) transmits the DHCP server retrieval message(302), a DHCP server(112) transmits a DHCP address transmit message(303). The address manager(204) transmits the DHCP address transmit message to the terminal(114)(304). The terminal(114) transmits a DHCP request message(305), and the address manager(204) transmits an address assign authentication request message to a protocol converter(201)(306). The converter(201) transmits an address assign authentication result message(307). If a dynamic IP address right is not included, an address assign failure message is transmitted to the terminal(114)(308). A dynamic IP address assignment is requested(309). The DHCP server(112) transmits a dynamic IP address(310). The address manager(204) transmits an address assign notice message(311,313). If an address assign result message is transmitted(312,314), the address manager(204) transmits an address assign complete message to the terminal(114)(315).
Abstract:
PURPOSE: An asynchronous address management method for an IMT-2000(International Mobile Telecommunications-2000) mobile communication network is provided to perform a networking using a PPP(Point-to-Point Protocol) between a TE(Terminal Equipment) and an MT(Mobile Terminal) in a PT(Packet Terminal) of the asynchronous IMT-2000 mobile communication network and accommodate a static or dynamic IP(Internet Protocol) system using a mobile IP and a simple IP as a domain. CONSTITUTION: An SM(Session Management) layer receives a packet data protocol generation request for a packet service, and transmits a signal channel setup request message to a PMM(Packet Mobility Management) layer of a PT in case that a signal channel connection is not set up. The PMM layer of the PT requests the connection of an RRC(Radio Resource Control) layer and the Iu connection of an RNC(Radio Network Controller) and a core network, and transmits a subscriber registration request message to the RRC layer for providing a packet data service to an object core network. If the subscriber registration request message is transmitted to the core network from the RRC layer through an SGSN/GGSN(Serving GPRS(General Packet Radio Service) Support Node/Gateway GPRS Support Node), an address management server of the core network transmits a response message of the Iu connection and a subscriber registration result message to the RRC layer and the PMM layer of the PT through the SGSN/GGSN. The PMM layer of the PT transmits a subscriber registration and signal channel connection response message to the SM layer. The SM layer transmits a packet data protocol generation request message to a server of the object core network through the SGSN/GGSN using a packet data protocol address previously received in an MT. The server receives the packet data protocol generation request message, and assigns a subscriber address. In case that the subscriber address is a static address system, the server determines an address of the PT as an address requested by the PT. If the subscriber address is a dynamic address system, the server determines the address of the PT as an address assigned in the address management server. If the address of the PT is determined, the address management server transmits a packet data protocol generation result including the subscriber address to the SM layer. The SM layer transmits the assigned address and the result about a packet service call process requested in the PT to a PPP of the MT.
Abstract:
PURPOSE: A packet call processing verification system for an MT(Mobile Telephone) and a method therefor are provided to verify whether a radio packet data service function of the MT is normally performed. CONSTITUTION: A TE(Terminal Equipment)(1) transmits a packet call setup request message to an MT(2) so that a packet call is set up for transceiving a packet with the MT(2). The TE(1) generates an Internet protocol packet after setting the packet call, transmits the generated Internet protocol packet to the MT(2), and calculates a data processing characteristic of the MT(2) on the basis of a response packet transmitted from the MT(2). A packet service simulator(3) receives a response control message about the packet call setup message from the MT(2), and checks whether the control message process between the TE(1) and the MT(2) is normally performed. The packet service simulator(3) transmits the Internet protocol packet transmitted from the MT(2) to an external Internet(6), receives a response packet about the Internet protocol packet, and transmits the response packet to the MT(2) so that the MT(2) transmits the response packet to the TE(1).
Abstract:
PURPOSE: A method for controlling network management traffic is provided to be compatible with a standard network management protocol operated between an existing network manager and a to-be managed manager. CONSTITUTION: An electric communication management network includes a network manager(110) within a network management system(100), a management agent(210) within a to-be managed system(200), a system(220) to be substantially managed, and a management information base(230) in which the state of the to-be managed system(220) becomes information into a standardized management scheme. The network manager(110) sends/receives an operating command with the management agent(210) to determine the state of the to-be managed system(220). After the network manager(110) confirms the state of the to-be managed system(220), it specifies a control parameter to a filtering algorithm within the management agent(210) and the management information base(230) in order to receive the most appropriate event report(trap message) after a current state. If the management agent(210) receives the trap message for event report from the to-be managed system(220), the management agent(210) operates the filtering algorithm to selectively transmit only a trap message to be reported specified by the control parameter to the network manager(110).
