Abstract: An apparatus for wireless communication is disclosed. The apparatus comprises: (a) means for receiving a semi-persistent downlink (DL) assignment for a user equipment (UE) with a scheduling message, the semi-persistent assignment being valid for multiple transmissions of data; (b) means for determining that the scheduling message is for semi-persistent scheduling; (c) means for obtaining an assignment of acknowledgement (ACK) resource from the semi-persistent DL assignment, the ACK resource being assigned to the UE for the multiple transmissions of data; (d) means for receiving a transmission of data sent in accordance with the semi-persistent DL assignment; (e) means for determining ACK information for the transmission of data; and (f) means for sending the ACK information with the ACK resource.

One or more parameters related to a resource restriction pattern can be provided to the device for measuring signals over indicated resources. The resource restricted pattern can correspond to a bitmap where each bit relates to a time period over which signals can be transmitted by the base station, and the bit can specify whether a signal received over the resource should be measured. The resource restriction pattern can correspond to a set or protected resources negotiated using a resource partitioning scheme.

Abstract: Systems and methodologies are described that facilitate sending and/or receiving user equipment specific reference signals (UE-RSs) in a wireless communication environment. A UE-RS pattern can be selected, yielded, etc. based upon a number of symbols from a subframe utilized for downlink transmission. At least one time domain component of the UE-RS pattern can vary based upon the number of symbols from the subframe utilized for the downlink transmission. For instance, the at least one time domain component can be punctured, time-shifted, and so forth. Further, UE-RSs can be mapped to resource elements of the subframe as a function of the UE-RS pattern. Moreover, a UE can utilize the UE-RS pattern to detect UE-RSs on the resource elements of the subframe. Further, the UE can estimate a channel based upon the UE- RSs.

Abstract: Systems and methodologies are described that facilitate multiplexing of control information and data for common transmission in a localized FDM wireless communication system. Localized FDM transmission of control and data channels can be achieved by, for example, multiplexing control information with data and transmitting the control information and data using resources and transmission schemes specified for transmission of the data. To ensure the reliability of control information multiplexed with data, a power offset can be applied to the control information to provide varying protection levels for the control information based on properties of the data resources into which it is embedded in order to maintain a predetermined signal quality for the control information independent of the data resources.

Abstract: Techniques for generating reference signals in a wireless communication system are described. A set of Q reference signal sequences may be generated based on G pseudo-random sequences and L scrambling sequences, where, and. The Q reference signal sequences may be used for Q cell identities (IDs), one reference signal sequence for each cell ID. In one design, a Node B may determine first and second indices based on a cell ID of a cell. The Node B may generate a pseudo-random sequence based on the first index, generate a scrambling sequence based on the second index, and generate a reference signal sequence based on the pseudo-random sequence and the scrambling sequence. The Node B may then generate a reference signal for the cell based on the reference signal sequence, e.g., by generating an OFDM symbol with the reference signal sequence mapped to a set of subcarriers.
