Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for producing a cable or a cable element from individual elements, especially strands consisting of a combination of bearing plastic fibers and a thermoplastic material which at least partially surrounds said bearing plastic fibers. The invention is characterized in that the individual elements are heated until they are at least close to plastification before or during the stranding process and then cooled to a setting temperature of the plastic until they leave the stranding machine. The cable or cable element produced according to this method is characterized in that the individual elements are present therein largely without internal stress. The corresponding stranding device has a heating device which acts on the individual elements and a cooling device which is located downstream of the heating device in the direction of processing.

A compact steel cord is provided. The cord includes a core-filament I steel wire with a diameter of d0, and four middle-layer M steel wires with a diameter of d1 and eight outer-layer O steel wires with a diameter of d2 that are twisted around the core-filament I steel wire in the same lay direction and the same lay length. Gaps L are reserved between the outer-layer O steel wires, an average width of the gaps L is not smaller than 0.02 mm, and the total size of the gaps L is larger than d0 and smaller than d1. The steel cord of a stable structure can be obtained by controlling the proportion of the sizes of all layers of monofilaments, the rubber coating performance of a tire cord can also be improved, the corrosion resistance, fatigue resistance, impact resistance and adhesion retention of a tire are improved.

A wire cable and a device and method for producing the wire cable, wherein a core strand is compacted and then braid strands are stranded on the core strand. The core strand is hammered before stranding of the braid strands in order to smooth the surface thereof. A plastic layer is applied to the core strand before stranding of the braid strands. The braid strands are pressed into the plastic layer while the plastic layer is heated. The core strand is a core cable and the braid strands are strands of the wire cable or the core strand is a heart strand and the braid strands are outer core strands of a core cable of the wire cable. A greater breaking strength of the wire cable is obtained by hammering the core strand in order to smooth it than by compacting a core strand with a roller compressor.

In an elevator rope, a plurality of steel outer layer strands are twisted together on an outer circumference of an inner layer rope. The inner layer rope has: a fiber core; a plurality of steel inner layer strands that are twisted together directly onto an outer circumference of the fiber core; and a resin inner layer rope coating body that is coated onto the outer circumference. A diameter of the inner layer strands is smaller than a diameter of the outer layer strands. The inner layer strands are greater in number than the outer layer strands.

A hybrid rope (40) or a hybrid strand (50) comprising a core element (42, 52), a first (44, 54) and a second (46, 56) metallic closed layer surrounding said core element (42, 52). The core element (42, 52) includes a bundle of synthetic yarns. The first metallic closed layer (44, 54) includes a plurality of first strands of wires helically twisted together with the core element (42, 52) in a first direction. The second metallic closed layer (46, 56) includes a plurality of second wires or strands helically twisted together with said core element (42, 52) and said first metallic closed layer (44, 54) in a second direction. The cross-sectional area of the core element (42, 52) is larger than the total cross-sectional area of the first (44, 54) and second (46, 56) metallic closed layers. A corresponding method of producing such a hybrid rope or hybrid strand is also disclosed.

A buffer layer is used to coat on the multi-filament wrapped string to fill the gaps. The polymers of the buffer-layer coating have a high melt-flow (low viscosity) during coating process to fill all the gaps between the filaments, and the filaments are fixed by the coatings onto base core materials. An outer protective coating is applied, which may comprise a composite nylon, clay nanoparticles, carbon nanotubes, an impact modifier, or any combination of the foregoing.

A rope structure of the present invention comprises a plurality of first yarns and a plurality of second yarns. The first yarns are formed of at least one material selected from the group of materials comprising HMPE, LCP, Aramids, and PBO, have a breaking elongation of approximately 2%-5%, and have a tenacity of approximately 25-45 gpd. The second yarns are formed of at least one material selected from the group of materials comprising polyolefin, polyethylene, polypropylene, and blends or copolymers of the two, have a breaking elongation of approximately 2%-12%, and have a tenacity of approximately 6-22 gpd. The first and second yarns are combined to form rope sub-components. The rope sub-components comprise approximately 20-80% by weight of the first yarns.

The invention relates to a composite twisted cable formed by impregnating carbon fibers with thermoplastic resin, and provides a fiber composite twisted cable which allows downsizing of a reel by being easy to be bent, can be transported to mountain areas which is normally hard to achieve a transport with a large vehicle, is hard to be curled, and is superior in workability. It is a cable having 1×n structure which is formed by impregnating bundles of carbon fibers with thermosetting resin, then twisting a plurality of strands each formed by covering an outer periphery of the bundle with a fiber, and then curing the thermosetting resin by applying the heat treatment, and a core strand and side strands which constitute the cable are separated and independent without being bonded so as to allow independent behavior of the respective strands when the cable is bent.

The present invention relates to a method of accomplishment of a hybrid cord comprising an inner layer (1) in steel cord, an intermediate layer (2) in a high module and high toughness fibre and an outer layer (3) in a Polyolefin fibre. The present invention also refers to its application in an 8 (4×2) cords braided hybrid cable or any other type of hybrid cable presenting another construction, in braided or twisted cables.
