Abstract:
A glove box hinge mechanism may include a plurality of linkages pivotally attaching a glove box to a vehicle dashboard structure. The linkages may be configured to pivot and translate the glove box upwards and outwards, limiting downward travel of the glove box. At least one torque tube may extend between the plurality of linkages to coordinate movement of the linkages. The torque tube may rotate with the plurality of linkages. A striker may be affixed to the torque tube so that the striker rotates towards a latch when the glove box is closed and so that the striker rotates to provide unobstructed access to the glove box in the open position.
Abstract:
An opening/closing device for a double flap door of an item of furniture, wherein the top part and the bottom part of the door are not hinged to each other. The device is connected to the furniture item to cause the top part of the door to rotate with respect to the furniture item and an articulated quadrilateral causes the bottom part of the door to rotate with respect to the top part concomitantly with the rotation of the top part of the door with respect to the furniture item. The articulated quadrilateral includes a first and a second arm each having one end hinged to the bottom part of the door and the other end hinged to the device.
Abstract:
A hinge for wings or doors, in particular of electrical appliances, having a first element, a second element and a rocker lever for connecting the first and second elements; the lever pivots on the second element and has a first arm integral with the first element to render the first and second elements movable relative to one another with a tilting action between a closed position and an open position; the second element consisting of a substantially box-shaped body containing both elastic parts, inserted between the second element and a second arm of the lever to apply an elastic action on the lever, and a damping device, for applying a damping action on the lever during the reciprocal motion of the first and second elements, when the closed position is almost reached.
Abstract:
A mechanical rate control device for mechanically dampening a telescoping hold open rod including an outer tube, an inner tube concentrically displaced within the outer tube. The inner tube includes a head portion and at least two friction pads surrounding the inner tube. Each of the at least two friction pads includes an internal surface which substantially complements an external surface of the inner tube.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a device (3) for the transfer of the torque of a drive output shaft (11) of a drive (1) that can be mounted on the body of a motor vehicle on the first half of a frame joint (4) of a frame joint (2) having a hinge axis (6), which first half of a frame joint (4) is attached to a vehicle lid of the motor vehicle, with the rotation axis (17) of the drive output shaft (11) and the hinge axis (6) in essence aligned with each other in mounted state of the drive (1). In order to assure a quick mounting of the drive (1) and to achieve an optimal displacement path of the vehicle lid during the closing procedure, with which the angle- and length tolerances of the drive (1) and the vehicle lid are balanced in a simple way, the invention proposes using a torque proof drive lever (9) that can be connected to the drive output shaft (11) which has a crank (16) that extends in direction of the longitudinal axis (15) of the drive lever (9), axially at a distance from the connecting region (100) of the drive lever (9) with the drive output shaft (11), in which crank (16) a sliding block (13) is arranged in a shiftable manner. This sliding block (13) forms the pivot bearing of the pivot (14) of a preferably plate-shaped adapter part (12) which can be firmly connected to the first half of the frame joint (4).
Abstract:
Disclosed herein is a panel movement system. The panel movement system includes top and bottom rails, top and bottom rail attachments, and a gear movement system. The top and bottom rails include threaded screw members along their lengths and first cog members rotatively coupled to the threaded screw members. The top and bottom rail attachments are movably attached to respective ones of the rails for lateral movement along lengths of the rails. Each rail attachment includes a rotatable second cog member engaged with the first cog member on respective ones of the rails. The gear movement synchronization system connects the rotatable second cog member of the top rail attachment to the rotatable second cog member of the bottom rail attachment such that the top and bottom rail attachments move along the rails in unison. The top and bottom rail attachments are adapted to have a panel connected therebetween.
Abstract:
Provided are an apparatus and method for opening and closing a window by slidably moving a movable window sash or door (hereinafter collectively called a ‘movable window sash’) with respect to a fixed window sash or door (hereinafter collectively called a ‘fixed window sash’). The apparatus is designed such that the movable window sash cannot only slide along a rail mounted within a blank frame but also be separated from a roller to move back and forth from any position on a rail toward the blank frame or the fixed window sash in a perpendicular direction with respect to a length direction of the rail, thus allowing the entire seal member interposed between either the blank frame or the fixed window sash and the movable window sash to be uniformly pressed in the perpendicular direction. Thus, excellent soundproofing, air tightness (windproofing), water tightness, insulation performance, and wind pressure resistance can be provided. Furthermore, the sliding window system has a simplified opening/closing structure and a minimum number of components, and low manufacturing cost.
Abstract:
The hinge for wings or doors, in particular of electrical appliances, comprises a first box-shaped body, a second box-shaped body, a connecting element between the first and second bodies, and a damper cylinder for applying on the second body an action damping its movement towards the first body.
Abstract:
Furniture hinge with alternative damping and/or braking device with respect to those existing and able to guarantee a better functional efficiency during closing and opening operation of the doors, or other parts of furniture, even after long periods of inactivity of the same device. The better efficiency of such hinge is also obtained by increasing the friction surfaces with a viscous means present in suitable areas of the hinge and by allowing the regulation of the angular velocity trend of a circular shaped element, for example a disk, that acts as a braking element in contact with the viscous means.
Abstract:
A vehicle tailgate lift assist support structure is provided with a rear end structure, a tailgate pivotally coupled to the rear end structure, and a lift assist device connected between the rear end structure and the tailgate. The rear end structure includes a first wall, a hinge plate having a plate portion disposed on an inboard side of the first wall portion and a pivot bearing sleeve extending from the plate portion through an opening of the first wall, and a nut plate disposed on an outboard side of the first wall and coupled to the hinge plate. A bellcrank arm is provided that has a first end attached to the tailgate and a second end offset from a tailgate pivot axis. The first end extends through the pivot bearing sleeve. The lift assist device dampens the tailgate during opening and applies a closing torque to the tailgate during closing.
