Abstract: The torsion spring winding device of the present invention comprises a gear having annular teeth thereon and additionally having means for detachably securing the gear to the free end of a torsion spring. A worm gear support is rotatably mounted to the gear so as to permit the gear to rotate independently of the worm gear support. The worm gear support carries an elongated worm gear in driving engagement with the annular teeth of the gear, and additionally includes a stop means for engaging the wall upon which the torsion spring is mounted. The method of the present invention comprises attaching a rotatable gear member having a plurality of peripheral teeth thereon to the free end of a torsion spring, engaging the peripheral teeth of the gear member with a worm gear, holding the worm gear mechanism against swinging movement with respect to the spring whereby the worm gear prevents rotation of the gear member and the free end of the spring with respect to the fixed end of the spring, rotating the worm gear to drive the gear member in a rotational direction whereby the free end of the torsion spring is rotated with respect to the fixed end thereof, and detaching and removing the gear member from the spring.

Abstract: A door open and close mechanism for opening and closing a plurality of doors in a machine tool including a cover. The door open and close mechanism includes a linkage mechanism and a slide mechanism. The linkage mechanism is disposed between an operation door and an intermediate door. The linkage mechanism associates the intermediate door with the opening and closing of the operation door. The slide mechanism is disposed between the operation door and the linkage mechanism. The slide mechanism enables the operation door alone to open and close by a predetermined moving distance. When the operation door is operated to open and close within the moving distance, the operation door alone opens and closes by the slide mechanism. When the operation door is operated to open and close beyond the moving distance, the intermediate door opens and closes in association through the linkage mechanism.

The operator system further comprises a door (8) arranged to be moved between an open and closed (C) position, the door (8) being movably connected to the door frame (3) and a drive unit (10) mounted on the door (8), the drive unit (10) comprising at least one motor (11) arranged to move the door (8) from the closed position (C) to the open position (O). An elongated transmission member (19) extends along the first side (7) of the opening (2) and the first frame section (4). The drive unit (10) further comprises a driven transmission member (18) in driving connection with the motor (11). The method comprises the steps of: detecting door movement; determining if detected door movement relates to unexpected door movement; and, if so, taking action so as to prevent more extensive damages. The disclosure further relates to an overhead door operator system for opening and closing an opening.

Abstract: A door device with a locking mechanism includes an operation member that is operated to unlock a door body. When a power supply for a railroad car is normal, it is determined whether the door body is allowed to be opened by operating the operation member. The door body is unlocked only when it is determined that opening of the door body is allowed. Whereas when the power supply for the railroad car is in an abnormal state, the door body is unlocked by the locking mechanism by operating the operation member.
