Abstract: PURPOSE: A shock absorbing apparatus of a hood for a vehicle is provided to minimize the injury on a walker colliding against a vehicle and to protect the walker safe by making a hood of a vehicle deformed downward or lowered when the walker collides against the hood. CONSTITUTION: A shock absorbing apparatus of a hood for a vehicle comprises a rotating lever(10) rotatably installed on an inner panel(3) and fixed on an outer panel(2), a shock sensing lever(20) rotatably installed on the outer panel and contacting to the inner face of the outer panel, an operating lever(30) rotatably connected to the rotating lever, a first elastic member(40) installed between the operating lever and the shock sensing lever, and a second elastic member(50) installed between the inner panel and the operating lever. When a shock is applied to the outer panel due to the collision of a vehicle and a walker, the shock sensing lever is separated from the rotating lever. The operating lever clockwise rotates by the expansion of the second elastic member, and the operating lever is applied with a force in the rotational descent direction. The outer panel is deformed downward by the force applied to the rotating lever. Therefore, the shock transmitted to the walker is minimized.

Thus, the outer panel is pulled down, and the middle portion of the outer panel is deformed downward.
