    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a nitroester useful as an explosive or a medicine, etc., at a high yield without inducing a side reaction by making a specific eliminator exist in the reaction of a primary or secondary alcohol with a nitrate in a nonaqueous solvent. SOLUTION: This compound is obtained by dissolving 1 mol of an organic compound having a primary or secondary alcoholic hydroxyl group (e.g. a cyclic or a chain-like alkyl alcohol, alkenyl alcohol, alkynyl alcohol, etc.), and 1.0-2.0 equiv. times of a nitrate (preferably, silver nitrate or ammonium nitrate) in a nonaqueous solvent (preferably acetonitrile) and adding an eliminator necessary to eliminate a hydroxyl group (preferably an alkylsulfonyl halide-base, an arylsulfonyl halide-base, etc.), in an amount of 1.0-1.2 equiv. times of 1 mol of the alcoholic hydroxyl group to the reactive solution, then nitroesterifying at 10-30 deg.C for 6-24 hrs. A reaction intermediate is rapidly consumed and a side reaction is prevented by adding the eliminator to the reaction system.
