Abstract:
The present invention provides an exercise device (10) which includes at least one pair of independently movable leg supports (186, 188) which are pivotally connectable to a main body support (12) to raise and lower, either separately and/or together, a user's legs during exercise between upper and lower positions and an adjustment device (198, 224) to allow the positions of said upper and lower positions to be changed.
Abstract:
The massaging device in this invention comprises a massaging mechanism, arms 3, and carriers 300. The carrier 300 has a shaft 30 which is fixed to the arm 3. The shaft 30 holds the massaging head 2 which is rotatable relative to the shaft 30. The carrier 300 carries the heat source 4 therein, and has a disc extending toward the radial direction of the shaft 30. The carrier 300 or the massaging head 20 includes a heat transfer means extending radially of the shaft from the carrier to an outer circumferential surface of the massaging head 20. This configuration makes it possible to transfer the heat to the outer circumferential surface of the carrier 300 or the massaging head.
Abstract:

Abstract:
A massager (12) includes an inductively chargeable battery (48), avoiding the need to deal with batteries and cords while providing a pleasant exothermic warmth. Different embodiments of sealing and skinning (13) make the massager (12) hygienically safe and fluid- and water-resistant. Sophisticated controls (50) provide the massager with the ability to respond to direct-mounted user controls (20, 22), wireless communication controls such as remote controls (30) and a plethora of other protocol-compatible devices, systems and media. A mating base (14) supports the massager (12) for inductive charging in a stable, aesthetically pleasant and safe relationship.
Abstract:
A chair type massaging device being capable of treating the forearm of a subject in case of need, having no portion above the armrest that interferes with the placement of the arm when the forearm is not treated, and allowing the subject to take a free posture; and a forearm massaging machine used in this chair type massaging device. Therefore, the massaging device has a detachable member (38) installed on an armrest (5) for movement along guide rails (37), with a fitting groove (39) formed in the detachable member (38). A forearm massaging machine (7) constructed to be capable of grasping the forearm of a subject by a fixed support (46) and a gripper (47) to apply a pressing stimulus to the forearm is provided with a fitting projection (40). The forearm massaging machine (7) can be removably mounted on the armrest (5) by removably fitting the fitting projection (40) in the fitting groove (39).
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for the prevention of deep vein thrombosis (DVT), pulmonary embolism (PE), lower extremity edema, and other associated medical conditions by adjusting the temperature of the muscles of a foot or a leg, and/or applying vacuum or negative pressure to increase blood flow. A human extremity such as a leg is exposed to a negative pressure environment and/or a thermally controlled environment within a medical device. In one aspect, the device is portable. A thermal exchange unit (104; 204; 504) and, optionally, a vacuum or negative pressure unit, are provided to increase blood flow and vasodilation. The device can be programmed by a controller in a manner to stimulate the muscles of the extremity to reduce pooling of blood therein.

Abstract:
A gum massager is made to activate cells in a gingiva efficiently, and thereby, effective to prevent a periodontal disease. The gum massager is comprised of a main body 1 and an attachment 2. The main body 1 has a linear drive motor 5 and a drive shaft 7 which is driven in linear reciprocation vibration in a frequency in sonic wave range, for example, about 300 Hz to 400 Hz. The attachment 2 has a brush unit 3 disposed at a front portion and a heat unit 8 disposed in an inside of the brush unit 3, and attached to a front end of the drive shaft 7. The attachment 2 is vibrated following to the vibration of the drive shaft 7 while a temperature of the brush unit 3 is kept in a region from 40 degrees Celsius to 50 degrees Celsius by the heat unit 8. By applying stimulation due to the vibration in the sonic wave region and the thermal stimulation to the gingiva, the cells of the gingiva are activated.
Abstract:
A device for acupressuric treatment, more specifically for stimulating the acupoints BL1 and BL2 on both sides of the root of the nose and over the eyes near the root of the nose, consists, in accordance with the invention, of a resilient, bow-shaped clip (1) that has pads (2, 3) arranged in pairs symmetrically about a plane of symmetry for this clip, which pads are designed to exert pressure against said acupoints when the bow is arranged over the root of the user's nose. While one set of pads (2) faces in towards the plane of symmetry of the bow, the other set of pads (3) faces sideways out from the plane of the bow.
