Abstract:
A pressure vessel for containing a pressurized fluid is disclosed. An outer shell may define a cavity where the fluid is stored. An inner matrix substantially fills the cavity and undertakes a majority of the forces exerted by the stored fluid. The inner matrix is a series of interconnected nodes with a series of voids located therebetween. The voids contact one another so that fluid may flow therebetween, thus filling the cavity. The interconnected nodes are filleted at the points of contact to reduce stress concentrations. An inlet/outlet device may selectively permit the introduction and removal of the fluid from the cavity.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for the production of a bladder accumulator (10) which separates two media chambers (16, 18) from one another in a storage housing (12) by means of a bladder body (14), comprising at least the following production steps:—extruding a plastic tube over the bladder body (14);—shaping the plastic tube with the integrated bladder body (14) in a molding tool that corresponds to a predeterminable plastic core container (20), and—winding at least one plastic fiber from the outside on the plastic core container (20) for the purpose of creating the storage housing (12).
Abstract:
A fluid storage and pressurizing assembly includes a storage receptacle and a pump assembly. The storage receptacle includes an inner vessel defining a cryogen space for storing a fluid at a storage pressure and a cryogenic temperature, an outer vessel surrounding the inner vessel, and an insulated space between the inner vessel and the outer vessel, and a pump assembly. The pump assembly includes a pump having an inlet disposed within the cryogen space for receiving a quantity of the fluid from the cryogen space, and an outlet for delivering the fluid therefrom, and a pump drive unit for driving the pump, the pump drive unit being at least partially disposed within a space defined by the storage receptacle
Abstract:
An orientation independent delivery device. The delivery device includes a gas chamber, a delivery chamber, a gas cell, and a delivery aperture. The gas chamber includes a gas-side rigid portion and a gas-side flexible barrier. The gas-side flexible barrier is sealed to the gas-side rigid portion. The delivery chamber includes a delivery-side rigid portion and a delivery-side flexible barrier. The delivery-side flexible barrier is sealed to the delivery-side rigid portion and is oriented adjacent to the gas-side flexible barrier. The gas cell is coupled to the gas-side rigid portion of the gas chamber. The gas cell increases a gas pressure within the gas chamber to expand the gas-side flexible barrier. Expansion of the gas-side flexible barrier applies a compressive force to the delivery-side flexible barrier allowing a delivery material to escape from the delivery chamber.
Abstract:
An illustrative example container includes a plurality of internal support members having a surface contour that at least approximates a minimum surface. The plurality of internal support members collectively provide structural support for carrying loads on the container. The plurality of internal support members collectively establish a plurality of cavities for at least temporarily containing fluid. An outer shell is connected with at least some of the internal support members. The outer shell includes a plurality of curved surfaces. The outer shell encloses the cavities.
Abstract:
An energy-accumulation apparatus includes a variable-buoyancy assembly configured to be selectively buoyant in a body of water. The energy-accumulation apparatus also includes a delivery assembly coupled to the variable-buoyancy assembly. The delivery assembly is configured to deliver the variable-buoyancy assembly within the body of water between a first position to a second position.
Abstract:
A LNG storage container includes: an inner shell made of a metal withstanding a low temperature of the LNG and configured to store the LNG inside; an outer shell made of a steel withstanding an internal pressure of the inner shell and configured to enclosing the outside of the inner shell such that a space is formed between the inner shell and the outer shell; and a heat insulation layer part installed in the space between the inner shell and the outer shell and configured to reduce a heat transfer.
Abstract:
These inventions related to systems and methods for producing, shipping, distributing, and storing hydrogen. In one embodiment, a hydrogen production and storage system includes a plurality of wind turbines for generating electrical power; a power distribution control system for distributing, and converting the electrical power from the wind turbines, a water desalination and/or purification unit which receives and purifies seawater, and an electrolyzer unit that receive electrical power from the power distribution system and purified water from the desalination units and thereby converts the water into hydrogen and oxygen. After its production, hydrogen is stored, transported, and distributed in accordance with various embodiments.
Abstract:
A method for producing pressurized liquefied natural gas and a production system therefor are provided. The method for producing pressurized liquefied natural gas includes: performing a dehydration process to remove water from natural gas supplied from a natural gas field, without a process of removing acid gas from the natural gas; and performing a liquefaction process to produce pressurized liquefied natural gas by liquefying the natural gas, which has undergone the dehydration process, at a pressure of 13 to 25 bar and a temperature of −120 to −95° C., without a process of fractionating natural gas liquid (NGL). Accordingly, it is possible to reduce plant construction costs and maintenance expenses and reduce LNG production costs. In addition, it is possible to guarantee high economic profit and reduce payback period in small and medium-sized gas fields, from which economic feasibility could not be ensured by the use of a conventional method.
Abstract:
Disclosed herein is a composite pressure vessel with a liner having a polar boss and a blind boss a shell is formed around the liner via one or more filament wrappings continuously disposed around at least a substantial portion of the liner assembly combined the liner and filament wrapping have a support profile. To reduce susceptible to rupture a locally disposed filament fiber is added.
