Abstract:
The present invention provides novel compositions prepared from a first oligomer containing reactive functional groups capable of reaction at effective rates (at normal processing temperatures) with a co-reactive second component possessing functionality that is complementary to that of the first oligomer. The compositions may be used as coatings, including hard surface coatings, clear coatings, powder coatings and pattern coatings; as adhesives, including pressure sensitive adhesives and not melt adhesives; as sealants; as optical coatings; as blown microfibers (BMF); as high refractive index optical materials; as barrier films; in microreplication; as low adhesion backsizes, (LABs) and release coatings.
Abstract:
The invention relates to liquid printing inks for flexographic and/or intaglio printing that comprise solvents, colorants, optionally additives, and, as the vehicle, at least one hyperbranched polymer that contains functional groups. The invention also relates to printing lacquers for priming unprinted materials or for coating printed materials, which comprise solvents, optionally additives, and, as the vehicle, at least one hyperbranched polymer that contains functional groups. The invention further relates to the use of such hyperbranched polymers for producing printing inks and printing lacquers.
Abstract:
The invention relates to the use of hyperbranched polyurethanes for producing printing inks and printing varnishes and to printing inks and printing varnishes which contain hyperbranched polyurethanes as binders.
Abstract:
Unsaturated binder composition comprising at least one unsaturated monomer, at least one unsaturated polyester and preferably one or more crosslinking catalysts or the like. The monomer is preferably an ester of at least one carboxylic acid or anhydride and at least one alcohol or an adduct thereof and includes in its molecule at least one reactive aliphatic unsaturation, which can be corsslinked with the unsaturation within the polyester. The polyester is a dendritic or hyperbranched macromolecule comprising a nucleus having at least one reactive hydroxyl or epoxide group and anumber of generations of at least one chain extender having at least two hydroxyl groups and at least one carboxyl group. The macromolecule is completely or partially in one or more steps chain terminated by at least one chain terminator being a carboxyfunctional unsaturated ester, a saturated or unsaturated carboxylic acid or by allylation.
