Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a single-layer twisted steel cord for reinforcing rubber products having sufficient rubber penetrability and excellent fatigue resistance and to provide an automotive tire using the steel cord in a reinforcing material. SOLUTION: The steel cord is obtained as follows. At least one wire 11 of a steel cord 10 having a 1×n structure is provided with a small spiral or wavy preform. In the wire provided with the spiral or wavy preform, the extent of protrusions from the cord outer periphery is regulated so that there exists no site where the ratio L/d of the deviation range L of the locus from the base line (sine wave) of the spiral preform for cord twisting in the projection plane of the preformed wire 11 after untwisting and loosening to the wire diameter d exceeds 0.7 in the whole round angle of the wire and there exist ≥2 sites where the ratio L/d is within the range of 0.07-0.7 per twisting spiral pitch. Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steel cord having high elongation properties, having a suitable primary elongation part in a low load region, excellent in penetrating properties of rubber thereinto, capable of preventing productivity from deteriorating, by controlling a cost of equipment and an amount of consumption of production energy, and suitable as an embedded and reinforcing material for a rubber product, especially as a high elongation cord used by being embedded in an external layer part of a reinforcing layer of a tire for an automobile, and to provide the tire for the automobile, given by using the steel cord. SOLUTION: This steel cord has a 1×n open-twisting structure, wherein a cross-sectional shape 10 of the cord is made to be approximately elliptical, all of element wires 1 to 5 are given small spiral curls other than curls which are formed for together twining the wires, a spiral curl of at least one of the element wires is made to be different from spiral curls of the other element wires, and cross-sectional shapes 11 to 15 of the element wires are each made to be approximately elliptical. [PROBLEMS] To provide a polypropylene fiber (PP fiber) excellent in strength, heat tolerance and water-absorbing property; a method of producing the same; and a hydraulic composition, a rope, a sheet-type fiber construct and a composite material with an organic polymer each using the above PP fiber. [MEANS FOR SOLVING PROBLEMS] A PP fiber having a fiber strength of 7 cN/dtex or more and exhibiting either or both of the following characteristics: (i) a single shape exhibiting a maximum heat absorption peak shape having a half-value width of 10°C or lower and DSC characteristics exhibiting a melting enthalpy change (ΔH) of 125 J/g, and (ii) peaks-and-valleys characteristics having a single filament fineness of 0.1 to 3 dtex wherein peaks with a large diameter and non-peaks with a small diameter are alternately located along the fiber axis on the surface and the average interval ofΔ the peaks and valleys is from 6.5 to 20 μm and the average height thereof is from 0.35 to 1 μm; a method of producing the PP fiber as described above which comprises pre-stretching 3- to 10-fold an unstretched PP fiber having an IPF of 94% or more at 120 to 150°C, and then after-stretching it 1.2- to 3.0-fold at 170 to 190°C at a deformation speed of 1.5- to 15-fold/min under a stretch tension of 1.0 to 2.5 cN/dtex; and a hydraulic composition, a rope, a sheet-type fiber construct and a composite material with an organic polymer each using the above PP fiber.
Abstract:
Provided are a reinforcement material, not causing undesired stress and having excellent shape stability characteristics, a rubber product using the material and a method for producing the product, and a pneumatic tire using the material and a method for producing the tire. The reinforcement material for rubber has a flat coil shape where, when the material is in a single free state, loop portions are partly superposed on each other in sequence, and is embedded in a rubber product such as a pneumatic tire.
