Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve the light-resistant property of an optical recording medium which uses an organic pigment as a recording material by a method wherein a polycarbonate substrate absorbs light having a specific wavelength or lower. CONSTITUTION:A recording layer 2 which absorbs a semiconductor laser beam and which converts light into heat and a metal reflection layer 3 used to increase a reflection factor are laminated and formed sequentially on a polycarbonate substrate 1 on which a pregroup 1a has been formed as required; in addition, a protective film 4 composed of a UV-hardening resin, a thermoset resin or the like is formed. The recording layer 2 contains an organic pigment as a recording material; the polycarbonate substrate 1 absorbs light at a wavelength of 650nm or lower. As a result, light having a short wavelength such as ultraviolet rays or the like which reaches the recording layer 2 is suppressed, and a reaction such as the fading of the organic pigment contained in the recording layer is suppressed. Thereby, it is possible to improve the light-resistant property of an optical recording medium.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a picture whose contrast is satisfactory at low cost by writing a same video signal based on one horizontal scanning period in a phase diffraction grating type write-valve by plural scanning lines. CONSTITUTION:The same video signal based on one horizontal scanning period T is written in a phase diffraction grating type write-value 1 by plural scanning lines (m)1 and (m)2. In this case, plural recesses/projections 13 and 14 are formed along the array directions of the scanning lines (m)1 and (m)2, on a reading-out face 12a of the phase diffraction grating type write-valve 1 according to the same video signal. Therefore, it is possible to improve the diffraction efficiency of a beam[a read-out beam (b)] from a schilieren optical series 2, which is diffracted and scattered at these recesses/projections 13 and 14. Thus, the picture whose contrast is satisfactory can cheaply be obtained on a screen 7.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To record the double amount data to the normal amount by executing recording while compressing a unit data length to be 1/2 times to the normal unit data length and extending a total track length to be 2 times. CONSTITUTION:Time base compression is executed to the recording data to be 1/2 and encoding is executed with the double frequency of a channel clock. Then, the physical length of the data to be recorded onto a CD are compressed to be 1/2 times by extending linear velocity to be 1/2 times to a normal CD recording system. Further, a track pitch is compressed to be 1/2 times so that recording can be executed while extending the total track length to be 2 times. Namely, since the physical data length is made 1/2 times, the data amount per area is made 2 times and since the total track extension is made 2 times, the amount of the data to be recorded is made double. Thus, without changing a quantizing number and a sampling frequency, the double amount of the data to the normal amount can be recorded.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To increase the recording capacity of a medium by recording and forming reproduction-only information by displacement in track width direction, and recording main information by using part of the reproduction-only information. CONSTITUTION:The method is employed such that the magneto-optical recording of the main information on the recording track 11 of a magneto-optical disk 10 is performed along a tracking direction. The reproduction-only information is recorded and formed on the track 11 by the displacement in the track width direction. Recording can be performed extending over entire plane of the disk 10, and control information consisting of a synchronizing signal and a clock signal component in the reproduction- only information is recorded on each frame leading part of a frame which forms a recording unit extending over the entire area of the disk by the displacement in the track width direction. When the recording/reproduction of the main information is performed by using the recording medium, the control information can be used. Also, since it is not required to record the control information newly when the main information is recorded, the main information can be recorded by omitting the control information. Therefore, the recording capacity can be increased.

The cured resin layer 462 corresponding to the second decomposition plane is formed and bonded to the upper surface of the first cured resin layer 461 when it is cured. By repeating this operation, a large number of cured resin layers 461, 462...46n are laminated on a stage 11 and a cubic shape 49 having the same three- dimensional shape as a cubic shape 45 is formed.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To reproduce a multivalued signal out of a data recording area by detecting the group displacement value and the group length based on the transition level and the transition timing. CONSTITUTION:A synchronizing signal and an amplitude reference signal consisting of the maximum and minimum values of multivalued signal are applied to a data recording area. Then a synchronizing signal is obtained by means of the light quantity of a reflected light beam L2 received from an optical disk 2. The beam L2 is received by a 2-split optical detector 10, and the amplitude reference signal is reproduced with use of a difference signal SPP between output signals SPD1 and SPD2. Then a transition level is set with use of the maximum and minimum values of the multivalued signal. Furthermore the signal SPP is differentiated in two steps for detection of the transition timing. The group displacement value and the group length of the disk 2 are detected based on the transition level and the transition timing. Thus the multivalued signal is surely reproduced out of a data recording area.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To simplify a measuring job of the wobbling tracks by detecting the wobbling and traverse signals out of the laser light irradiates an optical disk and obtaining the normalized wobbling value. CONSTITUTION:An optical disk D to be tested is set on a player. Then the output level of the wobbling signal Iw obtained in a normal tracking state is compared with the output level of the tracking error signal IT outputted in a tracking-off state. Thus the normalized wobbling value NWS is detected for normalization of the wobbling value W. The value NWS is approximately proportional to the value W regardless of the form of a group groove and the influence of a reproduction optical system. Thus the value W can be evaluated by the value NMS. Furthermore the actual value W can be measured based on the value NWS. Thus it is possible to simplify the measuring job of the wobbling tracks and to facilitate the evaluation of the disk quality.
