Abstract: Systems and methods for color selection are provided. A user device displays room types on a display, receives a room type selection indicating a particular room type, displays phrases having words associated with types of feelings, and receives a phrase selection indicating a particular phrase. The user device accesses a lookup table that associates the room types and phrase with paint colors such that each possible combination of room type and phrase is associated with a subset of paint colors. The user device determines the associated subset of paint colors in the lookup table for the combination of the particular room type and the particular phrase and displays the associated subset of paint colors as recommended paint colors for the combination of the particular room type and the particular phrase on the display of the user device.

Abstract: A monitoring system for a power grid includes one or more power transformer monitors. Each power transformer monitor includes a plurality of optical sensors disposed on one or more optical fibers that sense parameters of the power transformer. Each optical sensor is configured to sense a power transformer parameter that is different from a power transformer parameter sensed by at least one other sensor of the plurality of optical sensors. An optical coupler spatially disperses optical signals from the optical sensors according to wavelength. A detector unit converts optical signals of the optical sensors to electrical signals representative of the sensed power transformer parameters.

Abstract: A multi-channel measurement device for measuring properties of human tissue, may comprise a microcontroller and first and second source/sensor complexes. The first source/sensor complex may include a first housing having a first measurement portion, a first light sensor coupled to the microcontroller and exposed to the first measurement portion, and a first plurality of light sources coupled to the microcontroller and exposed to the first measurement portion. The second source/sensor complex may include a second housing having a second measurement portion, a second light sensor coupled to the microcontroller and exposed to the second measurement portion, and a second plurality of light sources coupled to the microcontroller and exposed to the second measurement portion. The first and second source/sensor complexes are coupled to each other such that the first measurement portion is opposite the second measurement portion and human tissue may be placed between the the first and second measurement portions. The microprocessor is configured with instructions stored in non-volatile memory to individually activate each of the light sources of the first and second pluralities of light sources and to record light intensity detected by the first and second light sources while an individual light source is activated. Each combination of an individually activated light source and one of the first and second light sensors provides a distinct measurement channel for measuring the absorption spectra of human blood and tissue.

Abstract: A multiple wavelength optical system includes plural solid state light sources, an optical diffuser, a lens assembly, and at least one photodetector. The solid state light sources have different wavelength ranges respectively. The optical diffuser has an incident surface and an exit surface opposite to the incident surface. The solid state light sources are disposed opposite the incident surface, and the lens assembly is disposed opposite the exit surface. Each of the solid state light sources faces the incident surface in the same direction. The lights of the solid state light sources enter the optical diffuser and exit from the exit surface, and then are focused by the lens assembly. Finally, the focused lights are projected on a surface of an object. At least one photodetector receives the reflected lights and the penetrating lights from the surface of the object.
