Abstract: The present invention aims to provide a method for producing a polyrotaxane which enables industrially advantageous production of a polyrotaxane with a high inclusion rate.The present invention relates to a method for producing a polyrotaxane that includes a cyclodextrin; a compound having a repeating structural unit represented by the following formula (1), and threading through a cavity of the cyclodextrin in a skewered manner to be included in the cyclodextrin; and capping groups individually placed at each end of a molecule of the compound having a repeating structural unit represented by the formula (1) to prevent the cyclodextrin from separating, the method comprising: a step 1 of mixing the compound having a repeating structural unit represented by the formula (1) and the cyclodextrin in an aqueous medium to prepare an aqueous dispersion of pseudopolyrotaxan particles in which the compound having a repeating structural unit represented by the formula (1) is included in a cavity of a cyclodextrin molecule in a skewered manner; and a step 2 of mixing a triazine compound represented by the formula (2), a compound having at least one tertiary amino group, the aqueous dispersion of pseudopolyrotaxane particles prepared in the step 1, and a capping agent to introduce capping groups individually at each end of a molecule of the compound having a repeating structural unit represented by the formula (1) in the pseudopolyrotaxane particles, wherein, in the formula (2), R1 and R2 are each independently a C1-C4 alkyl group or a C6-C8 aryl group, and X represents a halogen atom.

Abstract: The present invention aims to provide an industrially advantageous method for producing an aqueous dispersion of pseudopolyrotaxane enabling to produce an aqueous dispersion of pseudopolyrotaxane having good fluidity and excellent dispersion stability of the pseudopolyrotaxane particles therein. The present invention relates to a method for producing an aqueous dispersion of pseudopolyrotaxane. The method includes: a mixing step of a dissolving polyethylene glycol and a cyclodextrin in an aqueous medium to prepare a mixed solution; and a cooling step of continuously or intermittently cooling the mixed solution in a state of flux to precipitate pseudopolyrotaxane particles. The pseudopolyrotaxane particles contain the polyethylene glycol which is included in the cavities of the cyclodextrin molecules in a skewered manner.

Abstract: The purpose of the present invention is to provide a method for manufacturing polyrotaxane that can produce polyrotaxane with a high inclusion rate using an industrially advantageous method. The present invention is a method for manufacturing polyrotaxane, the polyrotaxane having: cyclodextrin; a compound having repeating structural units expressed by formula (1) that penetrates and is trapped in a skewered form in the openings of the cyclodextrin; and a blocking group located on both ends of the compound having repeating structural units expressed by formula (1), the blocking group preventing removal of the cyclodextrin. The method has: a first step for mixing cyclodextrin and the compound having repeating structural units expressed by formula (1) in an aqueous solvent, and obtaining a pseudo-polyrotaxane aqueous dispersion containing pseudo-polyrotaxane particles where the compound having repeating structural units expressed by formula (1) is trapped in skewered form in the openings of the cyclodextrin molecule; and a second step where a triazine compound expressed by formula (2), a compound having at least one tertiary amino group, the pseudo-polyrotaxane aqueous dispersion obtained in the first step, and a blocking agent are mixed together and a blocking group is introduced to both ends of the compound having repeating structural units expressed by formula (1) in the pseudo-polyrotaxane. In formula (2), R1 and R2 each independently represent an alkyl group with 1 to 4 carbon atoms, or an aryl group with 6 to 8 carbon atoms, and X represents a halogen atom.
