PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polishing agent capable of performing the mirror surface formation, glossy surface formation, etc., of a workpiece by a blasting process. SOLUTION: By chemically bonding among the cyclic molecules of a polyrotaxane in a state of mix-presenting abrasive grains and the polyrotaxane, the crosslinked polyrotaxane compound having a network structure by using the cyclic molecules as the crosslinked points and also dispersing and arranging the abrasive grains is obtained. By granulating the crosslinked polyrotaxane compound so as to have a prescribed particle diameter, a gel-formed polishing agent in which a part of the dispersed and arranged abrasive grains is exposed on its surface, is obtained. By projecting the obtained gel-formed polishing agent in an inclined angle towards the surface of the workpiece in the blast-processing, the surface of the workpiece is processed into the mirror surface, etc., without forming a satin-finished surface.
