Abstract: This invention concerns a smartcard (CAR), wherein it comprises at least one module (TIM) external to the operating system to manage the triggering of byte transmission. The external module (TIM) acts as assistant by monitoring the operating system. In its role as assistant, it can force the operating system to trigger byte transmission. Consequently, the inter-byte time intervals are better respected so that the reader can communicate with the smartcard. When these time intervals are not respected, the reader fails to recognise the card. The invention therefore avoids ejection of the card.

Abstract: Un dispositivo de procesamiento de datos incluyendo un microcontrolador y configurado para comunicarse con al menos un sistema remoto distribuido en una red, dicho dispositivo de procesamiento de datos y dicho sistema remoto adaptados para almacenar una pluralidad de parametros identificando una cuenta de usuario perteneciente a un suscriptor, dicho dispositivo de procesamiento de datos abarcando: un parametro de una sola vez abarcando la cuenta activa unida a dicho dispositivo disenado para un uso de una sola vez, un parametro permanente identificado una cuenta unida a dicho dispositivo de procesamiento de datos dicho parametro permanente siendo desactivado, en donde dichos parametros, de una sola vez y permanente, estan almacenados en dicho al menos un sistema remoto, y dicho microcontrolador esta programado para: c) usar el parametro de una sola vez para conectarse a la red cuando dicho dispositivo de procesamiento de datos esta encendido; d) intercambiar el parametro de una sola vez con el parametro permanente, en una conexion exitosa a la red, dicho parametro permanente se convierte en la cuenta activa permanente, en donde dicho primer dispositivo y dicho al menos un sistema remoto almacenan un parametro identificando una cuenta activa actual unida a un segundo dispositivo de procesamiento de datos para reemplazar, y en una conexion exitosa a la red, un programa automaticamente almacenado en dicho primer dispositivo envia una solicitud de activacion para el intercambio de la pluralidad de parametros viejos por los nuevos en dicho al menos un sistema remoto, con la desactivacion de la cuenta activa actual.

Abstract: A dual-mode IC is provided for operating in first mode such as an ISO mode in accordance with International Standards Organization 7816 (ISO 7816) protocol, and a second, non-ISO mode, such as a USB mode in accordance with Universal Serial Bus (USB) protocol. The dual-mode IC is preferably in a smart card and includes a microprocessor, a switching block, and an external interface. The external interface includes a voltage supply pad, a reference voltage pad, a reset pad, a clock pad and an input/output pad in accordance with the ISO 7816 protocol, and a D-plus pad and D-minus pad in accordance with the USB protocol. The IC further includes a mode configuration circuit for detecting a USB mode condition on at least one of the D-plus and D-minus pads, and configuring the IC in the ISO mode or the USB mode depending on the result. Once the IC is configured in a particular mode, it will operate in only that mode until the next power-on reset sequence.
