Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To safely and accurately fill a storage chamber, that is, a fuel storage container, by supplying fuel through a capillary tube for discharging most of fuel in the lower side of a fuel liquid surface raised in the fuel storage container. SOLUTION: In a second station 54, a filling head 64 is disposed on the top part of a container 112. A needle is lowered into the container 112 so as to reach a position within a distance 1/10 of the container 112 from the bottom part. Liquid fuel is supplied via the needle. Only after a sufficient amount of fuel liquid to be mixed with fuel in the container 112 is discharged from the needle, the retreating of needle from the container 112 is started. That is, by surely supplying most of liquid fuel filling the container 112 based on fuel discharging from the needle in the lower side of the fuel level in the container 112, the possibility of gas or vapor entering the flowing-in liquid is eliminated and the formation of bubbles or other air bubbles in the supplied liquid is prevented.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance stability of a knee bag cushion and its supporter panel by setting a knee supporter to be fixed to the knee bag cushion when a holding rod slips in a groove. SOLUTION: A pair of tube-like grooves 32 are attached to one side of a cushion 30 by means of, for instance, darning 34 on the opposite side to the cushion 30. Each groove 32 receives a rod 36. The rod 36 and the tube-like groove 32 serve as an anchor (hooking/fixing tool) and stabilize a supporter panel 40. The supporter panel 40 acting as a knee bag cover is arranged near an instrument panel. The surface opposite to the support panel 40, namely the inside surface 44 is provided with a pair of grooves 46 whose configurations are formed in such shapes as receiving holding rods 36 and tube-like grooves 32. The tube-like grooves 32 and the holding rods 36 can slip in the grooves 46 or those can be dropped and fitted in the grooves 46 by inserting those components in the openings 48 of the C-letter shape grooves 46.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To maintain the fitted state of a module cover at the time of expansion of an air bag by providing an air bag module with a module cover with break lines demarcated, and providing the module cover with a cover for covering an air bag cushion. SOLUTION: An air bag module 10 is provided with a module cover formed of thermoplastic material provided with moderate rigidity and strength, and the module cover 38 is provided with an integrally formed cover 40. This cover 40 has the inner surface 42 and the decorative outer surface 44 formed, and three break lines 46a, 46b, 46c of H-shape demarcated. An air bag cushion 26 is expanded from these break lines 46a, 46b, 46c by an inflator 28 so as to be able to break part of the cover 40. The module cover 38 can thereby be kept in the fitted state even when the air bag cushion 26 is expanded through the respective break lines 46a, 46b, 46c of the module cover 38.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a textile gas guide which reduces the likelihood that a seam fails during deployment of an airbag.SOLUTION: The textile gas guide is characterized as follows. A fabric member is overlapped with itself at least once and sewn through an overlapping region 101, such that at least a portion of an obverse side adjacent to a leading edge 100c is disposed to align with at least a portion of a reverse side adjacent to a trailing edge 100d. The fabric member further comprises a first edge 100e connected to the leading edge 100c and the trailing edge 100d, and a second edge 100f connected to the leading edge 100c and the trailing edge 100d, where the fabric member is overlapped with itself into a conical shape to form a sleeve 109 having a first opening 103 defined by the first edge 100e and a second opening 105 defined by the second edge 100f.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an airbag module assembly that may be used with a steering wheel unit that controls a gap between a driver airbag cover and adjacent steering wheel features.SOLUTION: An airbag module assembly 120 includes an airbag housing 124 for enclosing an airbag in communication with an inflator. The airbag module assembly 120 also includes an airbag cover 122 that is coupled to a cover suspension module, or coupled to the steering wheel unit 110. The cover suspension module includes a biasing element disposed in a housing and a locating feature extending from the housing.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an airbag inflator (10) which supplies airbag inflation gas in a highly adaptive output property.SOLUTION: The inflator (10) includes two discrete and mutually isolated chambers (34, 82) of gas generant materials (36, 86) and permits several distinct inflation performance scenarios while employing a single set of inflation gas treatment components such as filters (40) for the treatment of products of both chambers. The first chamber (34) includes the second chamber (82) therein, the second chamber has an outlet orifice (104) configured to be opened so that a second combustion product is communicated with a first combustion product. An insulator (106) is disposed around the second chamber so as to avoid the automatic ignition of the second gas generant material (86) in the second chamber when the combustion product that is generated when the first gas generant material (36) in the first chamber is ignited, comes into thermal contact with the second chamber.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve an airbag of conventional structure into a dual chamber constitution, capable of making perfect the protection of an occupant by making perfect the operation of the airbag. SOLUTION: A dual chamber airbag cushion used in an automobile protection system includes a first panel 110, a second panel 120 installed on the first panel, and third panels 130 arranged in row between the first and second panels, wherein the first and third panels bound the first chamber 160 while the second and third panels bound the second chamber 180, and the third panels are mounted to the second panel in a plurality of mounting regions so that the second chamber has a low profile region 185 corresponding to the place of the mounting region when the second chamber is inflated.
