Abstract:
A pump includes a coaxially integrated pump relief valve element (50) of high density polymer material that seats against a hard metallic sleeve (32). The sleeve (32) is pressed into a first counterbore (22) around the relief flow channel (20) with an interference fit. That axial end of the sleeve bearing the valve seat face projects, for a substantial proportion of the sleeve length, beyond the first counterbore shoulder into a second, larger diameter counterbore space (28) to provide an annular space (30) around the outside diameter surface of the sleeve to free the seat face end of the sleeve from direct structural restraint.
Abstract:
The present invention utilizes capacitive principles to sense the level of a liquid contained within a receptacle. As a liquid rises and falls in the container, the dielectric effect of the liquid changes the effective capacitance of a sensing capacitor (C4) which is detected by electronic circuitry coupled to the sensor. One plate of the sensor capacitor is a probe (C9) disposed within a receptacle while a grounded conductive portion of the receptacle is a second plate of the capacitor. The liquid within the receptacle acts as a dielectric between the plates.
Abstract:
Within a hermetically-sealed compressor (10), a cluster assembly provides the connection to a three-prong header so that power can be applied to the motor (12) within the compressor (10). The walls of the compressor (10) are closed as completely as possible except for openings for leads extending from the cluster block (28) and for pins (15) from the header (16) projecting into the cluster block (28). Each pin (15) has a ceramic collar (21) that is surrounded by a skirt (40) extending from the cluster block surface. The collar (21) and skirt (40) configuration more than doubles the length of the path that an arc must follow if there is arcing between pins.
Abstract:
The present application relates to a method of and a non-transitory computer readable medium storing instructions that, when executed by a processor, cause the processor to perform laser engraving a three-dimensional pattern into a surface of a workpiece, the method comprising: positioning a laser-engraving head to engrave a first engraving region of the workpiece; and applying a first plurality of laser pulses to a set of first predetermined locations within the first engraving region, wherein the first set of predetermined locations within the first engraving region is based on a probability distribution function that corresponds to a portion of the three-dimensional pattern that is associated with the first engraving region. The present application relates also to a method of determining locations (403) for laser pulses of a laser engraving process to engrave a three- dimensional pattern into a surface of a workpiece.
Abstract:
A magnetic sensing apparatus for sensing and tracking the position of a target that is independent of the rotation of the target about the magnetic sensing elements. The apparatus provides increased resolution and increased sensor element to sensor element spacing. Also, the apparatus reduces the susceptibility to external interference from interaction with external magnetic fields.
Abstract:
A commercial toaster apparatus having a "quick start" feature that nearly instantly changes from a "standby" mode to a "toasting" mode. The "quick start" mode is provided by changing the circuitry of some of the quartz heating elements from a series configuration to a parallel one wherein a higher voltage can be applied for a controlled amount of time to regulate the quartz heaters without adversely affecting the life span of the heating elements. Temperature probes are used to adjust the duty cycle of the apparatus to enable a uniform toast color as the cavity chamber temperature of the toaster changes over time. A sensor is also provided that determines when a last product is placed on the conveyer and the duty cycle has been completed so that the unit will automatically switch to a "standby" mode, thus reducing the energy requirements of the toaster.
Abstract:
A safe product transfer apparatus that heats refrigerated food products and then hold those heated food products in a hold drawer until they can be transferred to a heater merchandizer, preferably a roller grill as needed. The apparatus features a control assembly. The assembly has a pre-selectable preheat temperature control to provide a preheat temperature when the "on" switch of said control is activated. A pre-heat indicator indicates when the preheat temperature has been reached so that the food products can be loaded into an operable drawer. A pre-selectable heat temperature control provides a heat temperature wherein the heat temperature corresponds to the safe serving temperature. A timer indicator counts down to zero from a pre-set time once the heat temperature control has been activated such that the food products are assured of having reached the pre-selectable heat temperature.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for laser engraving a three-dimensional pattern on a surface A moveable laser head having a plurality of individually controllable laser beams is provided A carnage slideway is provided which has a carnage axis whose length corresponds to the width of the roller that will be engraved The apparatus has a laser slideway with an axis that is perpendicular to the carnage axis and a movable laser head The laser slideway is mountable to the carnage slideway such that the laser slideway slides along the carriage axis slideway An indexing roller mechanism is provided when engraving rollers When engraving flat surfaces, a second carriage slideway, perpendicular to the first one, is substituted for the indexing roller mechanism The use of multiple laser beams enables the ability to use a novel engraving method based on pre-calculated volumes of mateπal that are to be removed
Abstract:
The present disclosure provides a fluid pump having a pump motor, a pump drive shaft and a vane pump assembly. The vane pump assembly includes pump housing with a fluid inlet port in a distal portion of the housing and a fluid outlet port in a proximate portion. A first bearing member, having a plurality of inlet orifices in flow communication with the fluid inlet port, is disposed within the housing distal portion. A cam ring is adjacent the first bearing member. A rotor, which is on mounted the pump drive shaft, is disposed within an opening in the cam ring. This rotor includes a plurality of radial slots and vanes slidably received within the slots. A second bearing member, having a plurality of outlet orifices in flow communication with the fluid outlet port, is disposed within the housing proximate portion adjacent the cam ring. An end plate is also mounted within the distal portion of the pump housing. Rotation of the rotor by the drive shaft causes fluids from the fluid inlet port to be drawn through the plurality of inlet orifices at an initial fluid pressure. The fluid are then directed along a plurality of fluid flow paths disposed between an inner surface of the cam ring and an outer surface of the rotor, and then ejected through the plurality of outlet orifices to the fluid outlet port at a second fluid pressure which is greater than the initial fluid pressure.
Abstract:
A cooling system that has an electrical controller that controls an electric expansion valve and the defrost cycle using a reversing valve. The need for heater circuit to achieve defrost is eliminated. The system permits the defrosting the evaporator system in less time required for conventional defrost methods. The cooling system also eliminates the need for a head pressure control valve and check valves. Due to the less wiring and lower operating costs, the invention provides significant cost savings.
