Abstract: The invention concerns a fan-shaped screen, comprising a vertical protective surface capable of being unfolded to provide protection against light, the sun's rays or wind, and having a plurality of rods (5) whereto is fixed the protective material (6). The invention aims at improving said screen so that it can be used in closed premises for different purposes. Said fan-shaped screen should therefore have reduced space requirement and still be decorative, even when it is folded. Said fan-shaped screen is characterised in that the rods (5) are arranged in a spacing device (2) located in a base. In another embodiment, the rods (5) are arranged in a spacing device (2) located on a vertical member fixed on a base. Said resulting fan-shaped screen is also useful for protection against prying eyes and/or can be used as separating partition inside an apartment, in winter gardens. It can be used in business premises, exhibition galleries, in the context of therapeutic or cosmetic treatment, on theatre stages. It can also be used outside for protection against wind and sun, on terraces and balconies.
