Abstract:
Disclosed are electret materials with outstanding thermal and charge stability. The electret materials comprise a melt blend of a thermoplastic polymer and one or more compounds selected from the aromatic trisamides. The aromatic trisamides are for example of the formula. The melt blends are subjected to an electret treatment, for example a corona treatment. The electret materials are for example nonwoven polyolefin webs and are employed as filter materials, wipes, absorbent materials, filter masks, acoustic materials, printing substrates, measuring devices or contactless switches. The present electret materials may also comprise a further additive selected from the hindered amine light stabilizers and the hydroxyphenylalkylphosphonic esters or monoesters.
Abstract:
A process for preparing a pulverulent alditol acetal composition, which comprises a) mixing, in the presence or absence of other constituents, an aqueous alditol acetal composition having a solids content (SC) of between 40 and 75%, relative to the weight of the total aqueous alditol acetal composition, and an antioxidant in solid or liquid form or an antioxidant composition in solid or liquid form, containing one or more antioxidants, and b) drying of the mixture obtained under a). This process makes it possible to obtain pulverulent alditol acetal compositions that have improved density, particle size and flow characteristics.

Abstract:
A mixture of a polyester or a polyamide, such as poly(ethylene terephthalate) PET, and a suitable stabilizer selected from the group consisting of certain Mannich base compounds, when extrusion compounded exhibits a lower residual acetaldehyde content than does PET or polyamide alone when similarly treated. The invention pertains to any polyester or polyamide used in the manufacture of molded articles, fibers or films, for instance bottles or containers which are used to store consumer materials, for example food, beverages and water.
