    Abstract: A portable or lightweight enclosure has a flexible cover sheet (1) which is anchored to a base (2) or to the ground. A number of flexurally stressed or spring-loaded arched supports (6) are located within the cover sheet, the lower of the supports being free and braced against the inside of the cover sheet (1) by the stressing or loading of the supports so as to maintain the cover sheet in tension. The opposite longitudinal edges (5) of the sheet may be attached to respective longitudinal base members (3) which may be filled with ballast. The lower ends of the arched supports (6) may be interconnected by longitudinal elements (7) through which irrigation water may be supplied.

    Abstract: The heat exchanger 1 has a pair of spaced circular inner and outer walls 4,5 joined by a series of spaced ribs 6 extending in an axial direction between the opposite ends 2, 3 to form a series of parallel passageways 7. Interconnecting ports (e.g. 14a, fig 3) are milled or formed between adjacent passageways (fig 3), or groups of adjacent passageways (fig 4), at opposite ends of the extrusion, such that in one embodiment the fluid flows in opposite directions in the adjacent passageways or groups of adjacent passageways. A pair of end caps 9,10 close the ends 2,3 and have a respective fluid inlet 11 and a fluid outlet 12. An alternative embodiment (fig 5) has helical passageways. The heat exchanger may be an extrusion, moulding or welded; may be transparent or partially/wholly coloured black to absorb heat; and can be cylindrical, curved or flat. The ribs may be inclined to form a triangular cross-section passage (fig 7). The heat exchanger may be a radiator, solar panel, fireproof wall or part of a food processing machine; or cool a horticultural or industrial light bulb, or a chimney.

    Abstract: This invention relates to a printing method and apparatus for implementing the method and, in particular, a method of performing ultra-violet print techniques for altering the appearance of a surface of a medium using solvent-free, UV-curable ink. The apparatus includes an ink- discharging print head that direct ink at a surface to be treated and a diode that directs UV radiation at the surface in a frequency range selected for causing curing of the ink. The apparatus preferably also contains a marking detector that locates undesired markings on the surface for obliteration using the ink.

    Abstract: Methods, biomarkers, and expression signatures are disclosed for assessing the disease progression of Alzheimer's disease (AD). In one embodiment, BioAge (biological age), NdStress (neurodegenerative stress), Alz (Alzheimer), and Inflame (inflammation) are used as biomarkers of AD progression. In another aspect, the invention comprises a gene signature for evaluating disease progression. In still another embodiment, methods for evaluating disease progression are provided.
