Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make evaluations of colors coincident by mutually comparing colors seen with the sense of sight with colors based on measured values by a colorimeter. SOLUTION: A light amount-adjusting mechanism 12 and an illuminance measurement photodetector 10 are arranged in a measurement optical path 7 of an optical part. An illuminance is adjusted to a predetermined value while a standard plate is placed on a face of a sample stage 8, and a standardization is carried out. Then, a sample is placed on the sample stage 8 and a measurement is started. By varying the illuminance of a sample face by the light amount-adjusting mechanism 12, a hue, a saturation, a lightness of a surface color to a change of the illuminance of the same sample, and a change of a difference of colors, etc., can be measured and displayed.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form a platinum plating film having a good adhesion property by treating both surfaces of an ion exchange membrane under specific conditions by using several kinds of solns. and UV rays and subjecting these surfaces to platinum plating. SOLUTION: The ion exchange membrane is degreased with an NaOH soln. of a concn. of 5 to 10% and is rinsed and dried and, thereafter, the exchange membrane is etched by the UV rays of a wavelength of 300 to 400nm. The operation of treating the membrane with an SnCl2 soln. of a concn. of 0.05 to 2.0g/l and rinsing the membrane, and further, treating the membrane with a PdCl2 soln. of a concn. of 0.05 to 2g/l and rinsing the membrane is repeated 2 to 3 three times. The membrane is then treated with an H2 NHH2 .H2 O soln. of a concn. of 1.0 to 5.0% and is rinsed. The membrane is thereafter treated with an H2 PtCl6 soln. which is heated to 50 deg.C and has a concn. of 2 to 8g/l, by which the platinum films are formed on both surfaces of the ion exchange membrane. The membrane is then rinsed and dried. As a result, the porous platinum plating having the high adhesive power is applied on the membrane. The platinum plating films having the excellent adhesion property are thus formed uniformly on both surfaces of the ion exchange membrane.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To perform a wet friction test to be conducted in a state that fric tional cloth is moistened. Four fine holes 7 passed up to the hollow part 3 are formed at an equal interval in the horizontal direction at each of oblique sides of the trapezoidal shape. A fixture 9 for fixing a frictional cloth retainer 8 is provided at an intermediate part of both side faces, and provided with lugs 11 to be engaged with latches 10 of the fixture 9 at both sides in a square ring of the shape loosely engaged with lower parts of the element 1.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide a test method by which an outcome having approximation to deterioration at outdoor exposure (for example, the size of the peeling off area of a knife edge portion and the number and area or the like of a swelling) can be obtained in a short time in the case of a coated film sample. CONSTITUTION:Firstly, a salt water spraying test is conducted to the coated film surface of a coated film sample for a fixed time (two hours). Next, a drying test is conducted for a fixed time (four hours), and during this drying test, a light source is first lighted, and light radiation energy is given to the coated film surface, and the coated film surface is made to arrive at a predetermined temperature (60 deg.C) while a temperature difference is being generated between the coated film surface and a foundation, and afterwards, the light source is put out, and at the same time hot air having the same temperature with that of the coated film surface is blown to the coated film sample for the remaining time, and the temperature difference between the coated film surface and the foundation is removed. Lastly, a moisture test is conducted for a fixed time (two hours). This series of conditions is repeated by the predetermined number of times as a one cycle test.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To protect a lamp when too large a load is applied on a xenon lamp exceeding an radiance automatic control system by operating a switching means when a lamp discharging power exceeds a regulated value to feed the output control signal of a memory circuit to a power control circuit. CONSTITUTION:Irradiance received by a sample from a xenon lamp 1 is measured by a light receiver 2 for irradiance measurement. The detection output is converted into a control signal by an adjustment circuit 4 through an amplifier 3. The control signal is directly fed to one contact (a) of a change-over switch 13, and is stored in a memory circuit 5, while the read output is fed to the other contact (b). The control signal chosen by the switch 13 is applied to an SCR control voltage output circuit 51 of a power control circuit 5, and an SCR control voltage according to the value is generated thereby, while an SCR circuit 52 for lamp lighting is controlled by the control signal, and the discharge power of the lamp 1 is adjusted and the irradiance on the sample is maintained at a stable level. When the discharge power of the lamp 1 exceeds a regulated value, the initial value of the memory 6 is output to the circuit 51 as a control signal by a surveyllance circuit 11.
