    Abstract: A carbon exchanging system for a carbon-arc weather resistance testing apparatus having a carbon drive system including a reversible motor for automatically moving upper and lower arc producing carbons toward and away from each other along a vertical line for keeping the discharge current and voltage substantially constant. The carbon exchanging system has remotely operable upper and lower carbon chucks for holding the upper and lower carbons, a carbon replacing device having a remotely operable exchanging chuck and a drive for moving the exchanging chuck along a path of movement toward and away from the upper and lower carbon chucks when they are in position on the vertical line, a shifting device for shifting the carbon drive system and the carbon replacing means relative to each other for moving the upper and lower chucks and the exchanging chuck laterally relative to the vertical line, a carbon supply adjacent the path of movement of the exchanging chuck for holding replacement carbons and moving them into position opposite a position of the exchanging chuck along the path, and a moving device for moving the exchanging chuck and the carbon supply relative to each other in a direction toward and away from each other. The system can also include a control device for automatically controlling the operation thereof.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To heat the inside of a test chamber so that dispersion of a temperature distribution in the test chamber or fluctuation of the salt concentration and the specific gravity of sampled liquid are within a fixed range, and that the temperature inside the test chamber can be raised quickly up to the test temperature. SOLUTION: A steam generator and a means for spraying generated steam to the bottom part in the test chamber are installed in the test chamber, to thereby provide steam into the test chamber at a fixed rate, and hereby a saltwater spray test is executed with the temperature in the test chamber kept constant without lowering humidity.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a gaseous corrosion testing device capable of performing a gaseous corrosion test, while performing a hygrothermal cycle test without forming dew on a wall surface of a test tank, capable of improving the gas concentration stability in the test tank and the reproducibility of test results, and capable of performing the hygrothermal cycle test under an atmosphere where gas concentration is controlled at all times.
    SOLUTION: The gaseous corrosion testing device is such that each set value of temperature, humidity and corrosion gas concentration, at which dew is not formed on the wall surface of the test tank, is set in at least one condition, and the hygrothermal cycle test is performed in which the tests under the set condition are repeated, at each predetermined temperature transition time once or in combination of a plurality of number of times.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain uniform conditions for the whole sample and to obtain the title device with reproducibility by allowing a sample frame to move in the atmosphere of a test tank in every nook and corner of the test tank by revolving around one axis while rotating on its own axis. CONSTITUTION:The device 2 consists of a revolving mechanism 3 which revolves the sample frame 5 and a rotating mechanism 4 which rotates it on its own axis. Then the revolving mechanism 3 consists of a speed reduction motor 8, a gear 10, a gear 14 which engages it, a rotary shaft 13 which is coupled directly with it, a base plate 20 which is coupled directly with the rotary shaft 13, and the sample frame 5 fitted to the base plate 20. The rotating mechanism 4, on the other hand, consists of a speed reduction motor 21, a gear 23, a gear 15 which engages it, a hollow rotary shaft 16 which is coupled directly with the gear 15 and forms a double structure with the rotary shaft 13 and rotates outside, a gear 19 which is coupled directly and coaxially, a gear 25 which engages the gear 19, a rotary shaft 27 which is coupled directly with the gear 25, and the sample frame 5, which is driven by the speed reduction motor 21 to rotate on its axis. Consequently, the uniform conditions for the whole sample are obtained and the device which has the reproducibility is obtained.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To contrive automatization and labor saving for a carbon replacing work, by executing the interruption of a current, the removal of cinders of carbon, its storage into a dump box, the attachment of new upper and lower carbon, the adjustment of a carbon tip distance, and also, energizing, as a series of automatic operations. CONSTITUTION:The upper chuck 3 and the lower chuck 4 for holding the upper carbon 1 and the lower carbon 2, respectively are attached to a carbon driving mechanism 6 driven by a reversible motor 5, and by the approach and the separation of the carbon, a stable electric discharge can be enabled. On the other hand, a replacement carbon supply cycle 8 for containing many pieces of carbon for replacement is provided. When the carbon 1, and 2 are consumed, a current is interrupted automatically, and thereafter, a carbon replacing mechanism 9 removes the consumed carbon 1 and 2 held by the chuck 3 and 4, respectively, by chuck 7 for replacement moving upward and downward, returns them to the replacement carbon supply cycle 8, holds new spare carbon 1 and 2 and attaches them to the chuck 3 and 4, respectively. A series of these operation are executed automatically by an operation command from an electric control mechanism 14.
