Abstract: PURPOSE: An anti-inflammatory composition containing acid polysaccharide of green tea is provided to relieve skin irritation, pruritus, and inflammation and to treat and prevent inflammatory dermatitis. CONSTITUTION: An acid polysaccharide having a function of suppressing inflammation is isolated from green tea. The acid polysaccharide is isolated by extracting with hot water and performing ultrafiltration and ethanol precipitation. The acid polysaccharide is rhamnose, arabinose, ribose, xylose, glucose, mannose and D-galactose.
