Abstract: PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for monitoring stress are provided to prevent various diameters related to stress by sharing the stress monitoring result with a hospital system. CONSTITUTION: An electrode(110) is attached to a body in order to collect electrocardiogram data. A memory(120) stores electrocardiogram data collected by the electrode in real time. A signal processor(130) includes an HRV(Heart Rate Variability) signal extractor, an HRV signal analyzer, and a stress evaluator. The HRV signal extractor extracts the HRV signal from the electrocardiogram data. The HRV signal analyzer analyzes the HRV signal. The stress evaluator calculates the stress index using the analysis result value of the HRV signal analyzer. A wireless communication unit(140) transmits the stress index to a mobile communication terminal of the user.
