The present invention relates to a method for producing a ginseng adventitious root having increased antimicrobial activity comprising a step of culturing the ginseng adventitious root through light emitting diode (LED) irradiation at a blue wavelength range of 440-480 nm or a red wavelength range of 610-650 nm; to a ginseng adventitious root having increased antimicrobial activity produced by the method; and to a food or beverage containing the ginseng adventitious root having increased antimicrobial activity. According to the present invention, panax ginseng or wild ginseng having increased antimicrobial activity can be efficiently produced, and thus the present invention is very useful in medical and food industries.

The present invention relates to a method for producing a ginseng adventitious root having an increased content of a specific antioxidant by culturing the ginseng adventitious root through light emitting diode (LED) irradiation; to a ginseng adventitious root having an increased content of specific antioxidant produced by the method; and to a food containing the ginseng adventitious root having an increased content of the specific antioxidant. According to the present invention, the ginseng adventitious root having an increased content of a specific antioxidant through LED irradiation can be efficiently produced, and thus the present invention is very useful in medical and food industries.

본 발명은 억새 (Miscanthus sinensis) 유래의 COMT (caffeic acid O-methyltransferase) 유전자를 포함하는 재조합 벡터를 식물세포에 형질전환시켜 COMT 유전자의 발현을 조절하는 단계를 포함하는 식물의 페놀계 화합물 함량을 조절하는 방법, 억새 유래의 COMT 유전자를 포함하는 재조합 벡터로 식물세포를 형질전환하는 단계; 및 상기 형질전환된 식물세포로부터 식물을 재분화하는 단계를 포함하는 식물의 페놀계 화합물의 함량이 조절된 식물체의 제조 방법, 상기 방법에 의해 제조된 페놀계 화합물의 함량이 야생형에 비해 조절된 형질전환 식물체 및 이의 종자 및 억새 유래의 COMT 유전자를 포함하는, 식물체의 페놀계 화합물 함량 조절용 조성물을 제공한다.
