Abstract: PURPOSE: An apparatus for driving a liquid crystal display device and a method for the same are provided to improve the response speed of the liquid crystal display by changing the gray level voltage so as to enlarge the pixel voltage applied to the liquid crystal capacitor. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for driving a liquid crystal display device includes an image detection unit, a signal selection unit, a gray level voltage generation unit(800) and a data driving unit(500). The image detection unit generates the signal based on the variation amount of the image data. The signal selection unit outputs the selection signal of the step corresponding to the image change signal among a plurality of the selection signal. The gray level voltage generation unit generates a plurality of gray level voltages in response to the selection signal. And, the data driving unit selects the gray level voltage corresponding to the image data among a plurality of gray level voltages to apply the selected gray level voltage to the pixel as a data voltage.

Abstract: PURPOSE: An LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) is provided to enhance bonding force between an LCD panel and gate PCBs(Printed Circuit Boards) or data PCBs, thereby preventing separations of the gate PCBs or the data PCBs from the TFT substrate by forming dummy films between adjacent gate TCPs(Tape Carrier Packages) or adjacent data TCPs. CONSTITUTION: An LCD panel(410) has a plurality of the first signal lines and the second signal lines crossing over the first signal lines. The first PCBs(420-1,420-2) output driving signals to be supplied to the first signal lines and the second PCBs(430-1,430-2) output driving signals to be supplied to the second signal lines. A plurality of the first TCPs(424-1) electrically connect the first PCBs and the LCD panel and a plurality of the second TCPs(434-1) electrically connect the second PCBs and the LCD panel. The first and the second driving chips(422-1,432-1) are formed on the first and the second PCBs, respectively. Plural dummy film connect the first PCBs and the LCD panel, and the second PCBs and the LCD panel. Herein, respective dummy films are disposed between adjacent gate TCPs and adjacent data TCPs.

Abstract: PURPOSE: A gate driving circuit is provided to improve the output characteristics of the gate driving circuit by increasing the overall size of the pull-up unit. CONSTITUTION: A gate driving circuit is connected a plurality of stages, each outputs the output signals subsequently. Each of the stages includes a pull-up unit(351), a pull-down unit(352), a pull-up driving unit(353) and a pull-down driving unit(354). The pull-up unit is composed of a plurality of switching device connected in parallel to supply a first clock or a second clock having an inverted phase to the first clock. The pull-down unit supplies the ground voltage to the output terminal. The pull-up driving unit is connected to the input node of the pull-up unit to turn on the pull-up unit in response to the output signal of the previous stage and to turn off the pull-up unit in response to the output signal of the following stage.
