    Abstract: A method and an apparatus for automatically setting a gain state change point of a low noise amplifier in a mobile communication terminal device are provided to set the gain state change point of the low noise amplifier actively according to channel environment, thereby solving the problems when a gain state is fixed. An RSSI(Received Signal Strength Indication) is measured(300). It is determined whether the measured RSSI is included in a weak electric field(302). If the RSSI is included in the weak electric field, a gain state change point is set to a weak electric field state(304). A frame error rate at the measured RSSI is measured(306). It is determined whether the frame rate increases in comparison with an initially set reference value(308). If the frame error rate increases, it is judged that an interference signal increases. Thus, the gain state change point is raised(312). It is determined whether a measurement period is passed(314). If the measurement period is passed, a frame error rate is measured(316).
