Abstract: A dishwasher and a method for sensing a water level of the same are provided to control operation of the dishwasher stably when water is overflowed by displaying an overflow error on a display part when an electrode sensor is on and closing a feeding water valve. A method for sensing a water level of a dishwasher comprises the steps of: determining whether a washing stroke is a water feeding mode(S100); feeding water to a washing tub(S102); determining whether a micro switch is on(S104); determining whether an electrode sensor is on(S106); operating a circulation pump after the water is determined to be overly fed(S108); determining whether the first time passes(S110); stopping the operation of the pump when the first time passes(S112); determining whether the electrode sensor is on(S114); displaying a surplus water supply error on a display part(S116); closing a feeding water valve to stop the water supply(S118); determining whether the water supply is finished when the electrode sensor is not on(S120); determining whether the micro switch is on, not in case of the water feeding mode(S130); displaying a water leakage error through the display part when the micro switch is not on(S132); determining whether the electrode sensor is on when the micro switch is on(S134); and displaying the surplus water supply error(S136).

Abstract: An apparatus and method of washing control of a dishwasher are provided to prevent waste of rinsing water while reducing unnecessary rinsing cycle by measuring turbidity of rinsing water of previous cycle for determining the next course to be carried out. A method of washing control of a dishwasher comprises the steps of: discriminating if an auto-rinse course is selected by a user(S200); measuring turbidity of rinsing water while the auto-rinse course is on progress(S208); and selecting a course for the next cycle based on the measured turbidity of rinsing water by comparing the turbidity of rinsing water with a reference value, wherein current cycle on progress is completed and a course for the next cycle is selected, if the measured turbidity of rinsing water is below the reference value(S210,S216).

Abstract: An apparatus and method of washing control of a dishwasher are provided to prevent waste of water and reduce unnecessary washing process by determining proceeding process based on turbidity measured during a washing cycle. An apparatus of washing control of a dishwasher comprises the steps of: measuring turbidity of rinse water during a washing cycle(S208); and determining the proceeding washing cycle based on the measured turbidity of rinse water, by comparing the measured turbidity with a reference dirtiness(S210). A part of cycles out of a series of cycles can be skipped, if the turbidity of the rinse water is below the reference level.

Abstract: A dishwasher is provided to bypass washing water in a dirt chamber to a guide pipe when internal water pressure reaches a predetermined level and to prevent the washing water from being unnecessarily discharged by opening and closing the inside of a bypass pipe based on water pressure of the washing water by using a check valve. A dishwasher comprises a washing tub(2), spray nozzles, a sump(13), a guide pipe(11), and a bypass pipe(11b). The spray nozzles are installed in the washing tub. The sump, which is formed in the washing tub, applies washing water in a spray nozzle direction. The guide pipe connects the sump with the spray nozzle. The bypass pipe, which is branched at the guide pipe and connected with the sump, bypasses the washing water of the sump to the guide pipe. The inside of the bypass pipe is opened to bypass the flowed washing water to the guide pipe when pressure of the washing water exceeds a set value. A check valve(12) is arranged at the bypass pipe to open and close the inside of the bypass based on the pressure of the washing water.

Abstract: A tableware washing machine is provided to prevent thermal deformation of a sump due to contact between a heater and the sump by spacing the heater away from the sump, and to reduce current density per unit area generated in the heater by downsizing the heater, for avoiding accidents caused by excessive current density. A tableware washing machine comprises a washing tub(2), a sump(13), a heater(36), and a heater cover(42). The sump is provided on a lower side of the washing tub. The heater is provided on a bottom side of the washing tub, surrounding the outer side of the sump. The sump and the heater is integrated by connecting the heater to a heater support part which is provided onto the sump. The heater cover, which is provided on a heater mounting groove(39) that surrounds the sump, covers the heater, and include a water permeable hole(42a) for allowing washing water to pass through and make contact with the heater, so as to be heated by the heater.
