Abstract: 본 발명의 핸드오프를 위한 탐색 방법에서는 단말의 현재 접속노드에 대한 이웃 접속노드들로 구성되는 하나의 집합을 생성하고, 상기 접속노드들이 사용하는 채널 별로 부분집합들을 생성하고, 부분집합 순으로 AP를 탐색하여 최상의 가용채널을 가진 AP를 찾아낸다. 본 발명의 채널 탐색 방법에서는 네이버 그래프와 네이버 그래프 작성에 있어 새로운 비중첩 그래프를 도입함으로써 탐색 지연을 혁신적으로 줄임으로써 핸드오프 지연을 서비스의 허용 범위 내로 줄일 수 있다.

Abstract: PURPOSE: A method for hand-off in a wireless network is provided to promptly resume communication with a moved AP by reducing re-association delay by simplifying a hand-off procedure in a local area network. CONSTITUTION: A mobile station transmits a message requesting re-association to an AP(Access Point)_A(501). The AP_A transmits a re-association response message to the mobile station by context temporarily stored corresponding to the mobile station(503). The AP_A transmits the temporarily stored context to a latent AP_B(505). If hand-off to the AP_B is requested, the mobile station transmits a re-association request message to the AP_B(507). The AP_B transmits a re-association response message to the mobile station to execute authentication between the mobile station and the AP_B(509).

CONSTITUTION: A wireless network includes a plurality of access points, and terminals receiving a communication service through a random access point. To generate a neighbor graph to the random access point, information related to arrangement of the plurality of access points is detected. By referring to the information related to the arrangement, information related to a plurality of neighbor access points appropriate for hand-off of the terminal from the random access point is registered as a neighbor graph in a storage medium accessible by the random access point.
