Abstract: PURPOSE: A system and a method for correcting brightness distortion are provided to meet the size of the completed LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) panel for checking and correct exactly the brightness distortion. CONSTITUTION: A backlight(14) is a reference light emitting device which is used in order to correct the brightness distortion when checking badness of the LCD panel. A diffusion filter(12) is installed to an upper portion of the backlight(14) and controls the brightness of the backlight(14) uniformly. An image acquisition device(10) obtains image and brightness data of the backlight(14) and the completed checking LCD. A light intensity meter measures the brightness of a diffusion filter surface. An image processing unit(15) stores variation obtained from the brightness data measured by the light intensity meter and image and brightness data of the diffusion filter surface and thereafter applies it to the brightness data of the completed checking LCD, thereby correcting the brightness distortion.

Abstract: PURPOSE: A system for automatically controlling a projection video display is provided to automatically adjust convergence of a liquid crystal panel of the projection video display. CONSTITUTION: A system for automatically controlling a projection video display includes a pattern storage(40) for storing test pattern data, a liquid crystal driver(100) for displaying the pattern data on a liquid crystal panel, the first optical unit for synthesizing images displayed on the liquid crystal panel, the second optical unit for controlling the synthesized image to have a predetermined size, and a photographing unit(10) for directly photographing a test pattern image whose size has been controlled by the second optical unit. The system further includes a video processor(30) for processing the test pattern image, a controller(60) for detecting an error in the output image of the video processor to generate a control signal, a driver(70) for controlling the position of the liquid crystal panel according to the control signal, and an adhesive injector for injecting an adhesive for fixing the liquid crystal panel under the control of the controller.
