Abstract:
A multimedia contents multicasting system is provided to prevent that a plurality of data are congested in the Internet in IPv6(Internet Protocol version 6) environment by transmitting multicast packets transmitted to a router of an access network by a multicast scheme to a multimedia device of each home. A channel information receiving unit(11) receives channel information from a user. A channel information packet transmitting unit(12) transmits a channel information packet including a source address field, a destination address field and a channel information field to a certain home gateway. An address of a certain multimedia device is recorded in the source address field. An address of the home gateway is recorded in the destination address field. Channel information received in the channel information receiving unit(11) is recorded in the channel information field. A multicast packet receiving unit(14) receives a multicast packet including a source address field, a destination address field and a multimedia contents field from the home gateway which receives the channel information packet transmitted from the channel information packet transmitting unit(12). The address of the home gateway is recorded in the source address field. The address of the multimedia device is recorded in the destination address field. Multimedia contents provided from a channel indicated by channel information are recorded in the multimedia contents field. A multimedia contents reproducing unit(15) reproduces the multimedia contents recorded in the multimedia contents field received from the multicast packet receiving unit(14).
Abstract:
PURPOSE: A device and a method for constructing an ad-hoc network of different kinds of terminals are provided to relay different kinds of terminals which are unable to communicate with each other, thereby enabling communication between the different terminals, consequently an ad-hoc network where different kinds of terminals can freely communicate with each other is constructed. CONSTITUTION: The first connection unit(51) connects different kinds of mixed terminals where different kinds of mixed protocol stacks are mounted with the first terminal(1) where the first protocol stack is mounted. The second connection unit(52) connects the different kinds of the mixed terminals with the second terminal(3) where the second protocol stack is mounted. The first different kind of terminal communicating unit(53) receives the first data packet from the connected first terminal(1), converts the first protocol stack packet format of the first data packet into the second packet format if an address recorded in a destination address field included in the first data packet is not for the different kinds of the mixed terminals, and transmits the converted first data packet to the connected second terminal(3).

PURPOSE: An apparatus and method for authorizing a gateway, particularly concerned with enabling a gateway to perform functions for a node, are provided to prevent concentration of excessive traffic to a terminal of an Internet service provider by enabling a premises gateway to perform several functions of the terminal of the Internet service provider. CONSTITUTION: A gateway function determining unit(27) determines whether a gateway existing in a certain network performs a certain function for a node based on a network database having information on the node managed by the gateway and information indicating whether the gateway performs the certain function for the node. A gateway authorizing unit(28) authorizes the gateway to perform the function for the node if the gateway function determining unit(27) determines that the gateway performs the function for the node. A node charging unit(29) charges the node with a lower cost than a general cost if the gateway authorizing unit(28) authorizes the gateway to perform the function for the node.

PURPOSE: An apparatus and method for setting preference of a home agent, based on the number of mobile nodes and existence time of home agents or combination of them in mobile IPv6 standards, are provided to maintain load balance among home agents by uniformly allocating mobile nodes to each home agent. CONSTITUTION: A home agent advertisement message receiving unit(6111) receives a home agent advertisement message from each home agent connected to a sub-net. A mobile node number extracting unit(6121) extracts the number of mobile nodes managed by each home agent from the home agent advertisement messages received by the home agent advertisement message receiving unit(6111). A preference setting unit(6131) sets a preference of each home agent based on the number of mobile nodes managed by each home agent as extracted by the mobile node number extracting unit(6121).

An Internet Protocol version 4 (IPv4)-Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6) communication method and apparatus for allowing an IPv6 home network to communicate with an IPv4 host are provided. In the IPv4-IPv6 communication method, upon receiving a web address from an IPv6 device of the IPv6 home network, an IPv4 address corresponding to the web address is inquired from a domain name system (DNS). Upon receiving the inquired IPv4 address, the IPv4 address is mapped to an IPv6 address. The mapped IPv4/IPv6 addresses are stored, and a connection to the IPv4 host is set. Data of a web page corresponding to the web address is received from the connected IPv4 host. The received data of the web page is transmitted to the IPv6 device by referring to the mapped IPv4/IPv6 addresses.

PURPOSE: A domain name managing method is provided to provide a domain name service for dynamically or statically assigned IP address by making a DHCP(Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol) server and a DHCP client broadcast fair information of IP address-hardware ID to a DNS(Domain Name Service) server. CONSTITUTION: A DNS server unit maintains a database having fair information of an IP address-hardware ID as a mapping entry(S502). A DHCP server unit maintains a database having fair information of an IP address-hardware ID as a mapping entry, and if the fair information is updated, the DHCP server unit broadcasts the updated content to the DNS server unit(S504). A DHCP client unit maintains a database having fair information of an IP(Internet Protocol) address-hardware ID as a mapping entry, and if the fair information is updated, the DHCP client unit broadcasts the updated content to the DNS server unit(S506). The DNS server unit receives the fair information of the IP address-hardware ID from the DHCP server unit and the DHCP client unit, adds the information received from the DHCP server unit to the database, and adds or updates a mapping entry with the information received from the DHCP client unit(S508).

A method for controlling power of a communication device for communicating with a wireless broadband communication network comprises the following steps. A data packet is received(210). It is determined whether a part included in a communication device or the entire communication device is used in processing of the received packet(220). Partial devices of the communication device or the entire communication device are awaken from a sleep mode to an awake mode to process the data packet based on the determination.

본 발명은 모바일 IPv6 표준안에서 홈 에이전트의 선호도를 설정하는 장치 및 방법에 관한 것으로, 본 발명에 따른 홈 에이전트 선호도 설정 장치는 소정의 서브넷에 접속된 홈 에이전트 각각으로부터 송신된 홈 에이전트 광고 메시지를 수신하는 홈 에이전트 광고 메시지 수신부; 홈 에이전트 광고 메시지 수신부에 수신된 홈 에이전트 광고 메시지로부터 홈 에이전트 각각이 관리하는 모바일 노드의 개수를 추출하는 모바일 노드 개수 추출부; 및 모바일 노드 개수 추출부에서 추출된 홈 에이전트 각각이 관리하는 모바일 노드의 개수를 기준으로 홈 에이전트 각각의 선호도를 설정하는 선호도 설정부를 포함하며, 홈 에이전트가 관리하는 모바일 노드의 개수를 기준으로 홈 에이전트의 선호도를 설정함으로서, 각 홈 에이전트에 모바일 노드가 균등하게 배당되게 되고, 이것을 통하여 각 홈 에이전트간의 로드 밸런스가 유지되게 된다.

본 발명은 클라이언트 및 서버간의 원격 제어 장치 및 방법에 관한 것으로, 본 발명에 따른, 원격지에 소재하는 다수의 클라이언트들을 지원하는 방법은 다수의 백업 버퍼들 중, 소정의 백업 버퍼에 백업된 디스플레이 정보를 서버의 디스플레이 처리 모듈로 로딩함으로서 서버의 환경을 전환하는 단계; 및 전환된 환경 상에서 클라이언트들 중, 소정의 클라이언트의 디스플레이 정보 요청에 응하여 디스플레이 정보를 송신하는 단계를 포함하며, 다수의 클라이언트들의 디스플레이 정보들을 그들 각각에 할당된 백업 버퍼들에 백업 및 로딩을 인터럽트 서비스 루틴을 사용하여 반복함으로서 다수의 클라이언트들이 동시에 하나의 서버를 사용할 수 있다.

본 발명은 IPv6 네트워크에 관한 것으로, 구체적으로는 IPv6 네트워크에 존재하는 도메인 네임 서비스(Domain Name Server : DNS) 서버주소 애드버타이즈먼트 방법 및 이를 이용한 라우팅 방법에 관한 것이다. 본 발명의 라우팅 방법은 (a) 소정의 동적 라우팅 프로토콜을 이용하여 네트워크상에 존재하는 DNS 서버의 위치를 찾아내는 단계; (b) 상기 DNS 서버를 서브넷에 가지고 있는 라우터의 링크상태 정보를, 상기 라우터의 LSA(Link State Advertisement)에 저장하고, 플러딩(flooding) 과정을 통해서 상기 LSA 정보를 상기 라우터가 속해있는 autonomous system 내의 모든 라우터들에게 전달하는 단계; 및 (c) 상기 라우터가 DNS 서버의 주소를 요청받으면, 상기 DNS 서버의 주소를 응답하고, 응답받은 라우터는 상기 응답받은 라우터가 속해있는 서브넷에 상기 DNS 서버주소 정보를 포함하는 RA 메시지를 애드버타이즈먼트(advertisement)하는 단계를 포함한다. 본 발명의 방법을 사용하면, 각 호스트에 DNS 서버 주소를 수동으로 설정하지 않더라도 네트워크를 구축할 수 있는 효과가 있다.
