Abstract: A laser tracking system is provided to track motion of an object with a laser beam by irradiating the laser beam to form a circular beam pattern on the object and using the circular beam pattern. A laser source(110) irradiates a laser beam to an object. A rotating disc(130) has a reflection surface(130a) for reflecting the laser beam and is rotated around a first axis tilted to a perpendicular line of the reflection surface. A beam adjustor(170) changes a path of the laser beam reflected from the rotating disc to the object. An optical detector(190) detects an optical signal reflected from the object. A motion calculator(210) calculates motion of the object from the detected optical signal. A controller(230) enables the laser beam to track the object by controlling the beam adjustor according to information calculated in the motion calculator. The beam adjustor includes a mirror(173) and a biaxial actuator(176) rotating the mirror to two rotating axes perpendicular to each other. A time trace of the laser beam reflected from the reflection surface forms a circular shape as the height from the surface perpendicular to the first axis to one end of the reflection surface forms a sine wave to time.
