    Abstract: PURPOSE: A method and apparatus for reducing a peak to average power ratio in an orthogonal frequency division multiplexing system using additional mapping sequences are provided to generate an alternative signal sequence by performs IFFT(inverse fast Fourier transform) of sub blocks and an additional mapping symbol sub block and then linearly coupling the sub blocks and the additional mapping symbol sub block in a time domain. CONSTITUTION: A sub block partition part(410) partitions an OFDM symbol sequence into two or more sub blocks. An additional mapping symbol sub block generating part(420) generates additional mapping symbol sub blocks which corresponds to each sub block. An IFFTpart(430) performs IFFT of sub blocks and the additional mapping symbol sub blocks. An alternative signal sequence generation part(440) generates alternative signal sequences using signal subsequences and additional mapping signal subsequences. A minimum PAPR(peak to average power ratio) selecting part(450) selects the alternative signal sequence corresponding to minimum PAPR.

    Abstract: PURPOSE: A decoding method of a product code and an apparatus thereof are provided to make decoding result of very low error rate by reducing the complexity of calculation during a process of decoding the codeword matrix of the product code. CONSTITUTION: A decoding device selects soft-decision information of a horizontal code word as one soft-decision information about a decoding-failed horizontal code word. The soft-decision information is already calculated from the channel receiving information. The decoding device extracts another soft-decision information about horizontal code words using hard decision information of horizontal code words which are successfully decoded and the soft-decision information of other horizontal code words which are decoding-failed. The decoding device re-decodes the horizontal code words by adding two soft-decision information on the horizontal code words. The decoding device eliminates the matrix corresponding to the decoding success from a second expansion parity check matrix.
