    Abstract: PURPOSE: A method for receiving an optical signal and an apparatus thereof are provided to control signal strength of an optical signal included in a plurality of wave bands. CONSTITUTION: A optical receiving unit(121) receives an optical signal including a plurality of wave bands.     Abstract: PURPOSE: A transmitting apparatus of a wireless optical communication system using a light source is provided to maximize communication efficiency and maintain luminous intensity using a dimming encoding. CONSTITUTION: A dimming encoder(230) checks a dimming level inputted to a dimming level input unit and dimming-encodes the data outputted from the encoder by using a symbol-code word table corresponding to the dimming level. A line encoder(240) converts the dimming-encoded data to a pulse signal for driving a light source and outputs the converted pulse signal to the light source.
