PURPOSE: A fuel cell electrode catalyst is provided to shorten an activation time of a membrane electrode assembly by securing a conductive material movement route and a fuel diffusion path. CONSTITUTION: An electrode catalyst comprises a hydrophilic first catalyst (A) comprising more than 50 v% of pore having less than 100 nm of average diameter. The first catalyst has a hydrophilicity, which has more than 0.8 of [C-O]/[C=O] bond ratio based on the X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. A membrane electrode assembly comprises: a cathode; an anode arranged facing to the cathode; and an electrolyte film arranged between the cathode and anode.
Abstract:
PURPOSE: A catalyst-coated membrane for a fuel cell is provided to have improved catalyst availability and proton conductivity, thereby capable of providing a fuel cell with improved cell performance. CONSTITUTION: A catalyst-coated membrane for a fuel cell comprises an electrolyte membrane, and a catalyst layer formed on at least one side of the electrolyte membrane. A membrane electrode assembly comprises a membrane in which the catalyst is coated, and an electrode support attached on a catalyst layer of the catalyst-coated membrane. The cell resistance of a membrane-electrode assembly is 50-200 mΩ*cm^2. The thickness deviation of the catalyst layer is 20% or less, and the catalyst availability is 40% or more. The electrolyte membrane is an electrolyte membrane in which phosphoric acid based material is doped. The catalyst layer comprises a catalyst, a binder, and a phosphoric material, and water.

PURPOSE: An electrode for a fuel cell containing naphtha oxazine benzo oxazine monomers and polymers thereof is provided to improve surface compatibility and to maximize cell performance. CONSTITUTION: An electrode for a fuel cell comprises a catalyst layer containing polymers of naphtha oxazine benzo oxazine monomers. The polymer is a polymerization product of the naphtha oxazine benzo oxazine monomers of chemical formula 1 or a reactant between the naphtha oxazine benzo oxazine monomer of chemical formula 1 and cross-linkable compounds. The catalyst layer further contains proton precursor of phosphoric acid or C1-C20 organic phosphoric acid. The catalyst also contains a catalyst and binder.
Abstract:
PURPOSE: A hyperbranched polymer, a fuel cell electrode including thereof, and a fuel cell including the electrode are provided to simply mass produce the polymer with an easy synthesizing process, and to improve the oxygen permeability, the durability, and the heat resistance of the electrode. CONSTITUTION: A hyperbranched polymer with the degree of branching of 0.05~1, contains a dendritic unit marked with chemical formula 1, a linear unit marked with chemical formula 2, a terminal unit marked with chemical formula 3. In the chemical formulas, R is selected from the group consisting of fluorine, a fluorinated alkyl group with C1~C20, a fluorinated aryl group with C6~C20, a fluorinated heteroaryl group with C2~C20, a fluorinated cycloalkyl group with C6~C20, and a fluorinated heterocyclic group with C2~C20.
