Abstract: PURPOSE: A screen scroll method of a display device and a device thereof are provided to offer a list scroll without a touch at a portable terminal using a touch input with a display for using a screen without covering the screen. CONSTITUTION: A screen scroll is initiated according to the speed of a flick input when the flick input is generated (606). Variation of the gradient according to one set axis of a device compared with the initial position at the generation of the flick input is determined (608). If the variation deviates from a reference value, present screen scroll speed is maintained (620). If a set scroll pause condition is generated, a screen scroll action is stopped (614).
