Abstract: An encoder/decoder for a moving picture and a method thereof is provided to compensate for the global movement of the entire screen image to obtain high-efficiency compression performance. An encoder includes a prediction/compensation part, a subtracter, a transform/quantization part(110), and an encoding part(190). The prediction/compensation part compensates for the global movement of a screen image derived from camera movement by using a reference image signal based on camera motion parameters. The subtracter outputs a difference between a present video signal and an image subject to motion compensation. The transform/quantization part(110) transforms the difference into a frequency band to perform quantization. The encoding part(190) encodes the quantized result.

Abstract: An intra apparatus and a method thereof are provided to determine an estimation mode by means of pixels of the encoded and reconstructed macro blocks. A vertical edge detection member(31) detects the existence of the vertical edge by means of adjacent pixels(A) of an upper macro block and adjacent pixels(C) of the present macro block. A horizontal edge detection member(32) detects the existence of the horizontal edge by means of adjacent pixels(B) of a left macro block and adjacent pixels(D) of the present macro block. A prediction mode discriminating member(33) discriminates the progress of one between intra 16x16 estimation mode and intra 4x4 estimation mode by the values calculated by the vertical and horizontal edge detection members.

Abstract: PURPOSE: A device for calculating traffic information of an intelligent transport system and a method thereof are provided to set an interest area in the lane of an image to recognize a vehicle, thereby increasing the accuracy of traffic information. Abstract: PURPOSE: A fast encoding method and system via adaptive intra prediction is provided to improve the real-time compression technology while remarkably reducing the amount of calculation without the degradation of image quality. CONSTITUTION: An SAD value(C) calculated from a current frame is compared with a reference value(K) calculated from macro block data in order to determine a prediction mode(S410,S430).
