Abstract: PURPOSE: A simulator for verifying a wireless protocol in a CDMA mobile communication system is provided to verify a wireless protocol between a terminal and a base station effectively. CONSTITUTION: An after-edge system(200) generally manages with respect to a wireless protocol verification test and operation between a terminal and a base station. A front-end system(210) is connected to the after-edge system(200) through an Ethernet and performs an encoding and decoding with respect to a function necessary for connecting to the base station physically and an inputted signal. If a voice signal including a voice call setting and a command of a test operator is inputted in a simulator through the terminal, a CPU(260) instructs a process command with respect to the inputted voice signal. A vocoder processor(270) creates a voice frame using the voice signal inputted from the terminal in accordance with a command of the CPU(260). A physical layer processor(290) converts the voice frame into a format adapted to an ATM transmission after a medium connection function is performed by transmitting the voice frame to the CPU(260).

Abstract: PURPOSE: A noise factor measuring apparatus is provided to measure an exact noise factor simply by interrupting various noise sources existing at a wireless circumstance and measuring a noise factor using a signal-to-noise ratio owing thermal noise. CONSTITUTION: A variable attenuator(12) attenuates a signal transferred from a transmitter(11) so that the power of a signal provided to a receiver(13) may be adjusted. A controller and monitor block(14) estimates Eb/Io based on finger energy measured by the receiver(13) to control the variable attenuator(12) so as to reach a predetermined threshold value. The controller and monitor block(14) measures a received power to obtain a noise factor. Various noise sources existing at a wireless circumstance are interrupted by connecting the transmitter(11), the variable attenuator(12), and the receiver(13) by a wire.

Abstract: PURPOSE: A system of controlling a soft handoff region in a CDMA system and a method thereof are provided to reduce a handoff region or a possibility of handoff generation when a spare downlink link power assigned to soft handoff calls does not exist, thereby reducing a call drop rate of a busy subscriber call. CONSTITUTION: Base station device units(50,60) are composed of at least more than one of base station devices(51,52....5n)(61,62....6n). When a mobile station requests a handoff call by moving to a self region from another region, the base station devices(51,52....5n)(61,62....6n) ask a device to process the handoff call request, operate in response to the asked device, and assign power for soft handoff to the mobile station, or request all mobile stations to change handoff parameters. When the base station device units(50,60) request to process a soft handoff call, an entire base station controller(70) calculates the assigned power to assign the power according to a calculated value, or outputs a control signal to change the handoff parameters by all the mobile stations.
