Abstract: PURPOSE: A method for dynamically allocating a bandwidth in a loop-back type WDM(Wavelength Division Multiplexed)-PON(Passive Optical Network) is provided to simplify a channel connection method between an OLT(Optical Line Terminal) and an ONT(Optical Network Unit/Terminal). CONSTITUTION: An OLT(210) continuously transmits a non-modulated optical signal to an ONT(220)(S305). If the ONT(220) desires new registration or initiates its operation(S310), The ONT(220) requests registration from the OLT(210). The OLT receives a registration request frame from the ONT(220) and determines an initial frame ratio of a transmission frame(S320). The OLT(210) informs the ONT(220) that registration has been made based on the initial frame ratio(S325). The ONT(220) requests band allocation from the OLT(210) based on the initial frame ratio(S330). A scheduler of the OLT(210) determines of a non-modulated bandwidth for uplink data to be transmitted next(S335). The ratio of uplink and downlink is transmitted to the ONT(220)(S340).
