Abstract: PURPOSE: The gear train of an automatic transmission for vehicles is provided to improve the power transferring performance by forming a planetary gear set based on three clutches and three brakes. CONSTITUTION: A first rotation element(N1) is in directive connection with an input shaft(IS) and functions as an input element. A second rotation element(N2) is in directive connection with one rotation element of a third planetary gear set(PG3). A third rotation element(N3) is in selective connection with one rotation element of a second planetary gear set(PG2). A fourth rotation element(N4) is in direct connection with the input shaft. A fifth rotation element(N5) is in selective connection with the third rotation element and functions as an output element.

Abstract: A six-speed power train of an automatic transmission for a vehicle is provided to facilitate formation of an oil path by arranging a brake and a clutch dispersively. A first planetary gear set(PG1) is used as a single pinion planetary gear set having input/output functions. A second planetary gear set(PG2) includes four operational elements. The four operational elements of the second planetary gear set operate as one constant input element, two selective fixing elements, and one variable connection element to be connected with other planetary gear sets respectively. A third planetary gear set(PG3) includes three operational elements. The three operational elements operate as one constant fixing element, one variable connection element to be connected to four paths of the first and second planetary gear sets, and one direct connection element directly connected to the first operational element. A first single pinion planetary gear set(SPG1) includes a first linear gear(S1), a first planetary carrier(PC1), and a first ring gear(R1).
