    Abstract: PURPOSE: An FM radio receiver is provided to improve the performance of reception by applying different filtering bandwidths according to a change in atmospheric humidity and preventing noise or interference due to an increase in atmospheric humidity. CONSTITUTION: A humidity sensor(50) detects the humidity of the atmosphere and inputs it to a microcomputer(60). If the detected humidity is more than 70%, the microcomputer(60) controls an electronic switch to input an IF(Intermediate Frequency) signal to a 70KHz band pass filter. If the detected humidity is in a range of 30% to 70%, the microcomputer(60) controls the electronic switch to input an IF signal to a 100KHz band pass filter. In case that the detected humidity is less than 30%, the microcomputer(60) controls the electronic switch to input an IF signal to a 150KHz band pass filter.

    Abstract: PURPOSE: A method for tracking the position of car in the city by using a navigation system is provided to guide the accurate position of the car by utilizing at least five satellites when the car passes the city. CONSTITUTION: A method for tracking the position of car in the city by using a navigation system includes the steps of: (a) identifying(S11) the number of satellites received from the vehicle navigation; (b) determining(S12) whether the number of satellites is larger than 3 or not; (c) seizing(S13) the current position of the car through the map data stored at the navigation system if the number of satellites is larger than 3; (d) determining(S15) whether the number of the satellites is larger than 5 or not if the car is placed in the city; (e) calculating(S16) the position of the car through the map data of the navigation system and the 5 satellites when the number of the satellites is 5; and (f) guiding(S17) the vehicle position calculated from the step(e).

    Abstract: PURPOSE: An apparatus for evaluating the receivability of an RDS(Radio Data Signal) audio system is provided to improve an AF(list of Alternative Frequency) function and a TA-EON(Traffic Announcement Enhanced Other Networks Information) function, the most major functions of an RDS audio system installed in a vehicle, by simulating evaluation for the receivability of the RDS audio system, using RDS signal generators and AM noise generators at a non radio wave room where an influx of external radio waves is shielded. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for evaluating the receivability of an RDS audio system is composed of RDS signal generators(10A-10E), AM noise generators(20A-20E), signal mixers(30A-30E), antennas(40A-40E), a non radio wave room(100), and a monitoring unit(200). The RDS signal generators(10A-10E) generate various RDS data and output them in the form of signals. The AM noise generators(20A-20E) load AM Broadcast waves on FM broadcast frequencies and output them in the form of signals. The signal mixers(30A-30E) mix the output signals of the RDS signal generators(10A-10E) with the output signals of the AM noise generators(20A-20E). Each of the antennas(40A-40E) radiates the radio wave outputted from each of the signal mixers(30A-30E) in the non radio wave room(100) where a vehicle(300) is located as an experimental object. The monitoring unit(300) consists of a monitor to display the operation states of the RDS audio system and speakers to output various sounds sent from the RDS audio system.

The GPS antennas(1,1a,1b,1c) are connected with a navigation unit(2) for performing a navigation operation. A switching box(4) is installed between the navigation unit(2) and the GPS antennas(1,1a,1b,1c). The switching box(4) is used for transferring a signal received from the GPS antenna to the navigation unit(2). A monitor(3) is connected with the navigation unit(2) in order to display an operation result. The GPS antennas(1,1a1b,1c) are distributed on a whole face of a vehicle in order to prevent a lowering phenomenon of a receiving ratio.
