Abstract: A varying apparatus for steering gear ratio of a vehicle is provided to accomplish both driving performance at high-speed driving and driving convenience at lower-speed driving by varying the steering gear ratio. A varying apparatus for steering gear ratio of a vehicle comprises a pinion gear(10), a rotational shaft(30), a spring(40), and a guide plate(50). The pinion gear has a concave surface in the center thereof where a gear is formed. The rotational shaft is mounted to a middle point of a rack gear(20) which is operated in contact with an outer circumferential surface of the pinion gear. The spring applies tension force in connection with an end directing another end to which the rotational shaft and the rack gear are connected. The guide plate receives the rotational shaft movably, and has a rotational shaft guide hole(55) formed in a longitudinal direction corresponding to a moving direction of the rotational shaft. The pinion is configured so that steering gear ratio is less than 18~20.
