Abstract: A variable valve timing device is provided to shorten the entire length of a variable valve device because the top and lower coil spring assembles are arranged as the outer side of the lower coil and top coil. Abstract: PURPOSE: A system and a method for controlling the starting of an engine are provided to improve the startability of an engine by reducing the time for detecting engine rpm and stabilizing the determination of ignition time. CONSTITUTION: Cranking is started by a start motor with response to the input of a trigger signal from an ignition switch(S101). The TDC(Top Dead Center) of a firstly sensed cylinder is determined as a reference position(S102). The normal detection of the TDCs of respective cylinders is decided(S103). Initial engine starting is controlled via an injector and an ignition coil by applying all data for engine starting(S104). The normal engine starting is detected(S105). If the engine is not turned on, failure information is outputted(S108). Otherwise, a target engine rpm is determined depending on the change of cooling water temperature and load and maintains the idle rpm by adjusting the fuel injection amount and ignition time(S106,S107).
