Abstract: A dual bed catalytic system comprising Ag/Al2O3 and a ZSM-5 zeolite catalyst is provided to obtain an excellent NOx removing effect, wherein the dual bed catalytic system can be used widely as an industrial catalyst for the reduction of NOx released from various types of fixed sources or moving sources at a temperature of at least 300 deg.C. A dual bed catalytic system for the removal of NOx comprises silver(Ag) supported alumina(Al2O3) and a zeolite(ZSM-5). The silver(Ag) supported alumina(Al2O3) and the zeolite(ZSM-5) are stacked in the dual bed catalytic system. The dual bed catalytic system comprises 1 to 5 wt.% of the silver(Ag) supported alumina(Al2O3) and 95 to 99 wt.% of the zeolite(ZSM-5). The zeolite(ZSM-5) has copper(Cu) supported thereon. The copper(Cu) supported zeolite(ZSM-5) comprises 0 to 5 wt.% of copper(Cu) and 95 to 100 wt.% of a zeolite(ZSM-5). The dual bed catalytic system comprises the silver(Ag) supported alumina(Al2O3) and the zeolite(ZSM-5) in a volume ratio range of 4:1 to 1:4. The silver(Ag) supported alumina(Al2O3) is positioned at a front part of a catalytic converter, and the zeolite(ZSM-5) is positioned at a rear part of the catalytic converter. The dual bed catalytic system comprising a hydrocarbon compound having 6 to 16 carbon atoms as a reducing agent.
