    Abstract: PURPOSE: To obtain a biodegradable aliphatic copolymer having moldability and processability. CONSTITUTION: This biodegradable high-molecular weight aliphatic copolymer comprises an ester part shown by the general formula (OC-R1 -COO-R2 -O)p (R1 is a 1-12C bifunctional aliphatic group; R2 is a 2-12C aliphatic group; (p) is a molar fraction) and an ester part of the general formula (OC-R3 -O)q (R3 is a 1-10C bifunctional aliphatic group; q is a molar fraction), has a p value of 0.02-0.30 and 15,000-80,000 number-average molecular weight and is obtained by subjecting (A) an aliphatic dicarboxylic acid or an aliphatic dicarboxylic acid diester, (B) an aliphatic diol and (C) a hydroxycarboxylic acid, a hydroxycarboxylic acid ester or a lactone to polycondensation in the presence of a catalyst.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the subject compound under mild conditions in high yield in a significantly advantageous way in terms of cost, by using, as catalyst, a complex composed of cobalt carbonyl and a pyridine base so as to enable both the catalyst and solvent used in the reaction to be easily circulated and reused. CONSTITUTION:This compound is obtained by reaction between (A) an acrylic lower alkyl ester, (B) hydrogen-contg. carbon monoxide and (C) a lower saturated aliphatic monohydric alcohol in (D) a solvent, a mixture of (1) an aromatic hydrocarbon and (2) a saturated aliphatic hydrocarbon in the presence of (E) a catalyst, a complex composed of (3) cobalt carbonyl and (4) a pyridine base. It is preferable that the resultant reaction liquor is cooled to enough low temperatures to cause phase separation of the component (E) in the liquor; this component (E) is separated as a catalytic liquor and reused as a catalyst for the reaction; the component (D) is a mixture at the weight ratio (1)/(2) of 1:(1.5-10), and the component (4) is a 3-alkylpyridine.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide a process for the hydroesterification of an olefin to produce the corresponding carboxylic acid ester in high efficiency while suppressing the by-production of aldehydes and carboxylic acids and remarkably improving the reaction rate. CONSTITUTION:An olefin is made to react with carbon monoxide and an alcohol in the presence of a metal carbonyl complex catalyst to obtain a carboxylic acid ester. The reaction is carried out in the presence of 0.1-20 times mol of water in the reactional system based on the metal carbonyl complex.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide a stable organic magnetic body which is easily manufactured, having high saturation magnetization, by making it consist of a carbide in which an organic compound, composition ratio of hydrogen and carbon is specific value, is on the progress to graphite, and further, hydrogen atom of the specific percentage is contained. CONSTITUTION:An amorphous carbide of organic compound, on the progress to graphite, in which composition ratio of hydrogen and carbon is 1.7 or more is manufactured. The carbide contains 1-50 hydrogen atoms per 100 carbon atoms. The organic compound, here, is aliphatic hydrocarbon or cycloparaffin, or, crown compound, aza compound, or alkylamine. So the organic magnetic body, consisting of amorphous carbide of specific compound, is, in addition to its light weight, stable and easy in manufacture, and it is capable of having high saturation magnetization.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To easily obtain an n-aldehyde in high selectivity and yield on an industrial scale at a low cost, by reacting CO with H2 or water and an olefin using a specific catalyst. CONSTITUTION:An n-aldehyde is produced by reacting CO, H2 or water and an olefin such as 1-hexene, propylene, etc., in the presence of a catalyst composed of a pyridine compound (e.g. pyridine, picoline, lutidine, etc.) and a ruthenium compound such as triruthenium dodecacarbonyl in a solvent such as pyridine at 50-300 deg.C under synthetic gas (CO+H2) presence of 1-300atm. The pyridine compound used as a component of the catalyst is most preferably used as the solvent. The molar ratio H2/CO in the synthetic gas (CO+H2) is preferably 0.5-5.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To produce a 2C alcohol such as ethylene glycol, ethanol, etc., from carbon monoxide and hydrogen in liquid phase in high efficiency, by carrying out the reaction in the presence of a rhodium-based catalyst and a pyrrolidine compound in the reaction system. CONSTITUTION:Carbon monoxide is made to react with hydrogen in the presence of a rhodium-containing catalyst (rhodium compound or rhodium metal may be used as the catalyst) to obtain a 2C alcohol such as ethylene glycol, ethanol, etc. The alcohol can be produced in high efficiency and exceptionally high catalytic activity and selectivity by carrying out the reaction in the presence of a pyrrolidine compound of formula (R is alkyl or hydroxyalkyl; R' is H, alkyl or hydroxyalkyl) (e.g. N-methyl-pyrrolidine) in the reaction system. The pyrrolidine compound may be used as a reaction solvent and the amount of the pyrrolidine compound is preferably >=3wt% of the whole solvent.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain ethylene glycol, by reacting H2 with CO in the presence of a highly active combined system catalyst consisting of Co, Ru and, if necessary, a tertiary phosphine compound in a solvent such as an ether, an aromatic hydrocarbon, etc. CONSTITUTION:H2 is reacted with CO in the presence of a combined system catalyst consisting of Co, Ru and, if necessary, a tertiary phosphine compound at 150-300 deg.C at 500-3,000kg/cm to give ethylene glycol. In the catalyst, carboxylate, inorganic acid salt, oxide, hydroxide, etc., of Co are used as a Co compound and a halide, carboxylate, complex compound, etc., are used as an Ru compound. An atomic ratio of the Ru compound to the Co compound is 0.5-2. Triphenylphosphine, etc., are used as the tertiary phosphine compound and a ratio of number of gram atoms of the tertiary phosphine compound to Ru 1g atom is 0.1-5. EFFECT:The aimed substance has several times higher formation activity.
