    Abstract: PURPOSE:To make it possible to measure both 1-cm dose equivalent and 3-mm dose equivalent efficiently with a single apparatus by providing a first incident window for transmitting a low energy region excellently and an adjusting window which can be freely attached to and removed from the first incident window. CONSTITUTION:A first incident window 29 and an adjusting window 30 are provided at a first detecting part 10. For example, a voltage of -500V is applied to an applying electrode 18 of the first detecting part 10. At this time, when, e.g. +20V is applied to a first capacitance correcting electrode 32, the effective volume of the ionization chamber of the first detecting part 10 can be reduced by about 4 - 5%. Thus, the total detecting sensitivity can be lowered by a specified level. Meanwhile, a voltage of +500V is applied to an applying electrode 20 of a second detecting part 12. At this time, when, e.g. -20V is applied to a second capacitance correcting electrode 34, the effective volume of the ionization chamber of the second detecting part 12 can be reduced by 4% or more. Thus the radiation of a characteristic curve 202 can be measured.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To measure both of 1cm dose equivalent and 70mum dose equivalent by providing a first incidence window through which radioactive rays coinciding with the characteristic of 70mum dose equivalent measurement are transmitted, an adjustment window of 1cm dose equivalent measurement, and a capacity correcting electrode. CONSTITUTION:A first detecting part 10 is provided with a first incidence window 28 and an adjustment window 30. The adjustment window 30 is formed with several mg/cm thickness so that the total thickness of these windows 28 and 30 is about 30mg/cm , and the adjustment window 30 is freely detachably attached to the incidence window 28 by the cap system. Detecting parts 10 and 12 measure and display 70mum dose equivalent, and the detecting part 10 to adjust the level difference is provided with first capacity correcting electrodes 32a and 32b, and the detecting part 12 is provided with second capacity correcting electrodes 34a and 34b. Thus, both of 1cm dose equivalent and 70mum dose equivalent are efficiently measured with the single instrument.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To separate and measure the beta-rays in food and to facilitate routine measurement by providing a 1st detecting part which detects low-energy beta-rays and a 2nd detecting part and 3rd detecting part which have different absorption layers. CONSTITUTION:The beta-rays of low energy radiated from a sample 24 are detected by the 1st detecting part 26. The beta-rays exclusive of low energy are detected in the 2nd detecting part 30 and the hard cosmic rays are detected in the 3rd detecting part 34. The beta-rays and the cosmic rays exclusive of the low energy rays are eventually and simultaneously made incident to the 1st detector 26 and, therefore, only the electric pulses which are not simultaneously detected by the outputs of the 1st and 2nd detecting parts are taken out and the beta-rays of low energy are measured in a reverse simultaneous counter circuit 40. The measurement of, for example, cesium, is possible in this way. Since the cosmic rays are simultaneously made incident to the 2nd detecting part 30, the reverse simultaneous counting 42 of the outputs of the 2nd and 3rd detecting part is executed and the beta-rays exclusive of low energy are measured. The measurement of, for example, potassium, is possible in this way.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To measure an equivalent to effective dosage by a gas counter tube by providing two detection parts which differ in window thickness. CONSTITUTION:A thin front window 22a and a rear window 22b with intermediate thickness are provided to a 1st detection part 18. A current collecting electrode 24 is provided as an anode on the axis of a 1st cylinder part 22 as a cathode. Counted gas from a discharge chip pipe 28 is supplied to and charged in a 1st detection part 18. The volume of a 2nd cylinder part 30 which is a relatively thick window and a cathode is set 1/2 the volume of a 1st detection part to form a 2nd detection part 20. A differential computing element 38 calculates the output difference between both detection parts 18 and 20. Consequently, a 1cm-deep part dosage equivalent can be measured by the counter tube. Further, the 1st cylinder part 22 of the detection part 18 is covered with a shield container 42 for deep part dosage such as a plastic plate, thereby further measuring even the effective dosage equivalent.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To save the consumption of a purge gas used for measurement, by enabling the re-using of a part thereof after the end of measuring the concentration of tritium. CONSTITUTION:Tritium gas which has balanced with the concentration of triti um in air to be inspected in a membrane separator 10 is supplied into an ioniza tion chamber 46 from a gas take off port 26 and the concentration of tritium is measured with a measuring device 48. The purge gas measured in the ioniza tion chamber 46 is re-used as it is without being thrown away and for the purpose, a valve 50 as selection valve and a circulation path 52 are provided. A part of the purge gas discharged from the ionization chamber 46 is exhausted through the valve 50 while the remaining part thereof is fed to a flowmeter 54. Furthermore, the purge gas fed to a pump 58 through a valve 56 for adjusting flow rate is introduced into the separator 10 after passing through the circulation path 52 through a filter 60. Thus, the purge gas passing through the path 52 is mixed with a purge gas containing no tritium water fed from a cylinder 40 thereby enabling saved consumption of purge gas.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide a radiation measuring apparatus which prevent a background level by Cherenkov radiation from being increased. CONSTITUTION:In a simultaneous counting type radiation measuring apparatus, one pair of photomultiplier tubes 8a, 8b which simultaneously count photons converted by a scintillator 2 are provided with reference to the scintillator 2 which converts a radiation into photons. In the simultaneous counting type radiation measuring apparatus, transparent shielding members 4a 4b, which correspond to the individual photomultiplier tubes 8a, 8b are arranged between the scintillator 2 and the photomultiplier tubes 8a, 8b so as to be separated optically. Consequently, since Cherenkov radiation which is generated in the transparent shielding member 4a (or 4b) on one side does not reach the transparent shielding member 4b (or 4a) on the other side, it can be removed as a noise, and the radiation can be measured at a low background.

CONSTITUTION:Three scintillators 14, 16, 18 are arranged at a detection section, and detecting holes 14a, 16a, 18a are formed on the scintillator blocks 14, 16, 18. The scintillator block 14 is for low energy, and the scintillator blocks 16, 18 are for intermediate energy and high energy respectively. The hole diameter of the detecting hole 14a is the smallest, and the number of the detecting holes 14a is the largest. The hole diameter of the detecting hole 18a is the largest, and the number of the detecting holes 18a is the smallest. The energy sensitivity differs for individual scintillator blocks 14, 16, 18, and constant sensitivity can be maintained over a wide energy range as a whole.

CONSTITUTION:A collection electrode 22a is arranged in an external electrode 20a and an absorbing layer 24 (composed of rubber containing boron B) limiting the transmission of a thermal neutron in a constant ratio is arranged to the neutron incident surface of a thermal neutron detector in which nuclear reaction gas is sealed. An epithermal neutron detector equipped with a deceleration material 26 and covered with a thermal neutron absorbing layer 28 is arranged to the rear of the thermal neutron detector and a proton recoil scintillation detector 30 is further arranged. A part of a thermal neutron transmits through the absorbing layer 24 to reach the thermal neutron detector to be detected thereby. An epithermal neutron is decelerated by the deceleration material 26 to be converted to a thermal neutron and reaches the epithermal neutron detector to be detected thereby. A fast neutron is detected by the proton recoil scintillation detector 30.
