    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify a transmission operation for measured data and personal identification information in a personal dose management system sharing a personal dosimeter among a plurality of persons. SOLUTION: A transmitting part 12a for transmitting dose data obtained through measurements and a receiving part 12b are provided in front of a personal dosimeter 10. A card holder is also provided. An IC card 20 displaying personal identification information of a user using the personal dosimeter 10 in the form of a bar code is detachably loaded to the card holder. A fixed-type data-receiving unit 30 receives measured data from the personal dosimeter 10 at a receiving part 32a and reads the bar code of the ID card 20 by a bar code reader 34, thereby obtaining the personal identification information.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To uniformize the sensitivity over a wide energy range in a portable neutron detecting device for detecting a neutron. SOLUTION: An opening 24 is formed on the human body side in a thermal neutron shield container 22, a thermal neutron scattered in a human body 20 passes through the opening 24, undergoes nuclear reaction in a thermal neutron reaction layer 28, and a charged particle produced is detected with a detector 32. A fast neutron passes through the thermal neutron shield container 22, undergoes nuclear reaction in a fast neutron reaction layer 26, and a recoil particle produced is detected with the detector 32. Epithermal neutrons and intermediate neutrons pass through the thermal neutron shield container 22, undergo nuclear reaction in an epithermal/intermediate neutron reaction layer 30 to generate charged particles. The charged particles generated by the intermediate neutrons are detected with the detector 32 without receiving attenuation by this material, and on the other hand the charged particles generated by the epithermal neutrons receive attenuation by self absorption effect during moving in a nuclear material, and only a part is detected by the detector 32. Sensitivity of the epithermal neutron can be controlled by the self absorption effect.

    Abstract: PURPOSE: To obtain a dust monitor which can detect a low-concentration artificial nuclide by a method wherein an object window corresponding to γ-ray energy emitted by an object nuclide is set inside a γ-ray energy spectrum, the total sum of γ-ray counting rates of respective channels in it is found and the contribution portion of radon or the like is subtracted. CONSTITUTION: Object windows W1 , W2 in ranges of about 1050 to 1460keV and 730 to 890keV are set with reference to peaks of 1700keV, 1330keV and 810keV of energy values by object nuclides Co, Co in a γ-ray energy spectrum. Since the peak of 609keV by the daughter nuclide of Bi of radon is close to them, about 500 to 670keV is set as a contribution window Wr . Counting rates of the windows W1 , W2 which reflect the amounts of the Co and the Co are measured, the contribution rate of the Bi basedon the counting rate of the window W2 is subtracted, and more precise counting rates can be found regarding the Co and the Co.

Each detection unit 10, 12 is provided with a scintillator plate 20 and a photomultiplier tube 16 wherein the two scintillator plates 20 are isolated optically from each other. Since the sensitivities of two detection units 10, 12 are overlapped in the center, deadband can be eliminated.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To evaluate a dose with high accuracy by preliminarily storing standard excretion curves due to the properties of radioactivity and calculating the standard excretion curve approximate to the measured value of the intensity of intake radioactivity in excretion to estimate real intake radioactivity. CONSTITUTION:A large number of standard excretion curves predetermined at every properties are calculated to be stored and, when there is real intake, the measured value at least at two points of time is compared with the standard excretion curves and the properties of intake radioactivity are estimated from the similar relation between both of them. Therefore, intake quantity and exposure can be accurately estimated on the basis of the standard excretion curve specified from the estimated properties of radioactivity. Since the intensity of the real intake radioactivity in excretion is measured with the elapse of time, alpha-ray and beta-ray emitting radioactivities are simultaneously discriminated and measured on the basis of the difference between emission attenuation times using the excretion and a liquid scintillator. Further, since gamma-rays of high and low energies are simultaneously discriminated and measured, the intensity of radioactivity in the excretion can be accurately measured.

Then when a digit of 10(D10) are decided, it is judged whether or not the relative standard deviation (sigma) of the total number (N) is smaller than a predetermined effective digit criterion m10 for the digit of 10; when it is judged that sigma >= m10, an ineffective display of all digits, i.e. a display of specific characters other than numbers or a blinking display of specific intervals is made. When it is judged that sigma = m1, the blinking display as the ineffective display of digits other than the digit of 10 (D10) is made.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent the occurrence of noise induced from the outside and simplify insulating composition by connecting a bias power supply, which is connected in series to a small battery, between a collector electrode and an electrometer in the state of being insulated from the outside. CONSTITUTION:A bias power supply 18 is provided between a collector electrode 10b and an electrometer 14 to apply bias voltage to the collector electrode 10b. In this case, an ion chamber 10, the bias power supply 18 and the electrometer 14 are formed together so that the respective spaces can be kept to a minimum, and integrally insulated from the outside 19. In this way, the bias power supply 18 can be approximated to the ion chamber 10 and the outer cylinder 10a of the ion chamber 10 can be held at zero potential, resulting in rare occurrence of noise induced from the outside. Also, the outer cylinder 10a of the ion chamber 10 is at an earth potential level, resulting in unnecessary insulation of the outside wall of the ion chamber 10.

A labeling part 62 performs a label issuing function, a label sticking function, and a label content confirming function. If an internal conveyor line 30 is selected by means of a discharge end switching part 26, a sample rack is lowered by an elevator mechanism 32 and fed into the internal conveyor line 30. The device also performs the function of re-arranging slave sample containers.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make sensitivity distribution uniform and to make an entire device thin in a radiation detector using a scintillator plate. SOLUTION: Four photomultiplier tubes 18 are arranged equally and symmetrically on a scintillator plate 12. Each of the photomultiplier tubes 18 is connected to a pulse-height discriminator 24 through a corresponding amplifier 22, respectively. Six coincidence counters 26 are provided corresponding to all combinations (4C2=6 combinations) of selecting two out of the outputs from the four pulse-height discriminators 24, and all the possible pairs of output signals of the four photomultiplier tubes 18 is given an AND operation by these coincidence counters 26. An adder 30 is an OR (disjunction) circuit to which six coincidence counters 26 are put in and which puts out their disjunction. An output pulse of this adder 30 is counted by a counter 28, and the count result is putout as a count value of radiation.

    Abstract: PURPOSE: To provide a radiation dosimeter in which a detector is not easily damaged and by which a dose equivalent can be found precisely even for low- energy β-rays. CONSTITUTION: β-rays which have passed an incident-window protective plate 70a are detected by a detection part 20 not comprising a filter and a detection part 30 comprising a filter 30c. Detection signals of the detection parts 20, 30 are amplified and pulse-height-discriminated so as to be counted respectively by counters 26, 36. An arithmetic circuit 42 receives respective counted values of the counters 26, 36, it finds the ratio of the counted values, and it finds the energy of the β-rays corresponding to the ratio of the counted values from a sensitivity-ratio table which is stored in a memory 44. In addition, the arithmetic circuit 42 finds the sensitivity of the detection part 20 or 30 corresponding to the energy of the β-rays found from an energy characteristic table which is stored in the memory 44, it corrects the counted value of the detection part 20 or 30 on the basis of the sensitivity, and it computes a dose equivalent.
